One New Hampshire police officer went the extra mile and helped a woman carry her groceries nearly half a mile uphill to her home, after a fire emergency blocked off her route back. On July 17, photos of the good deed by Master Patrol Officer Tyler Coady of the Bow Police Department went viral on Facebook. According to Boston 25 News, Officer Coady was on the scene in response to a fire at Crossroads Community Church. Fortunately, no one was inside the church at the time of the blaze. Soon after, a local woman returned home from the grocery store, and was "concerned" about getting her purchases home, InfoNH reports. Officer Coady sprang into action, and carried two of her bags back to her house, ...

I love hearing these stories too. About a month ago we had an officer help a stranded motorists get a can of gas to start his car. The officer paid for the gas.

Awesome. I have an auntie who is an officer and she constantly checks on people and helps them out with things.

That's great. Another great story but not involving an officer. A young guy was supposed to begin his first day of work when his car tore up. He walked 20 miles that night to be at work the next morning for a moving company. The owner of the company was so touched that he gave the young man his own car.

We had a state trooper a few weeks ago who was home off duty when he hear a cardiac arrest call come over his police radio.. It was happening 4 blocks away from him. He was just in his swimming short. He grabbed his gear from his trooper car and ran the 4 blocks.. bare footed.. and shirtless. He got there well before anyone else and saved the ladies life. They never met before.

There are literally hundreds of stories of cops doing wonderful things on a daily or weekly basis , I wished they would print a lot of them to balance out the negative stuff
but then again negativity sells |

Anther one (and it never made the news)
I was walking out of my local pizzeria and there were two cop cars outside. They pulled over a car and were talking to a lady in her late 20's on the sidewalk she had a kid around 7 years old who I took to be her son As I was waking by one cop was talking to her very calmly ( like a father would). The kid looked scared but the other cops was smiling and talking to him. The one cop told the woman " just come down to the station with us and lets get this clear up and you on your way". He also told her that they would watch her son for her while she is in the station. She clearly was wanted for some reason, something minor I suppose. but the way they handled it was very professional. never made the news..as most don't. But they happen every day. |

I bet there are way more stories of police officers going the extra mile to do good for the communities then negative scenarios. |

It happens every day.. in every town across the nation. 10,000's of times.
900,000 sworn police officers doing their job day in day not expecting and fanfare to the above stories.. just doing their job. Thank God we have them.. thank God. When I was a kid, about 16 we were on the train tracks smoking some weed and we got caught by some transit cops. Now that is a juvenile delinquency charge at that age.. not big.. but not small either. Now the standard thing the cops are trained to do is to take you to the station and press the charge.. misdemeanor After all, they didn't personally know us. The cops made us one by one call our fathers.. who promptly came down and kicked our a*ses all the way home The cops could have run us in and pressed charges.... but they didn't I will never forget that. |

There are literally hundreds of stories of cops doing wonderful things on a daily or weekly basis , I wished they would print a lot of them to balance out the negative stuff but then again negativity sells I agree with this actually. The news does not tend to report the expected ,like Tutor teaches student, or fireman puts out fire ... et cetera And I imagine it is expected for police to SERVE in the community they are dispatched to. But it is still nice to hear some of these stories as a show that the expected is also real. |

Lately around here we have heard of more stories where the Police or Fire Department have done good deeds.. We need to hear equal stories of good verse bad that are never reported....
I totally back our Military along with PD & FD... we really need to give them more credit then what is given... |
|

Why you write the word serve in caps.. same for your heading?
What is that all about? Why the emphasis on that? And cops go above and beyond 1000's of times a day. |

The positive way out weighs the negative regarding our Military, PD, FD ect... But unfortunately as another poster stated , negativity sells. |

It's a nice story. One word is emphasized to point out that the concept is emphasized, pretty simple. |

I don't think people should confuse these stories with the job description of an officer. These are good deeds not their job.

I disagree. I think it falls squarely under 'serve' because it does not fall under 'protect', and both are part of the job.

Oh good I just though maybe your keyboard cap tab got stuck again like last time when it kept writing ASSumed to peoples reply's. Remember.. that is what you said.. it got stuck.. a few times and only on that word. Glad to hear there is no other motive, like cop bashing. |
