I love politics but that is me.
I do have to correct you on capitalism, although it is a political ideology there has never been a capitalist political party at least not on the federal level. most parties in democratic societies are either Left to center or right to center. And you have those with left of the left to center ( usually some type of socialist,or marxist-leninist government, labour parties, green parties , and if you have parties that lean right of the right to center they are usually smaller parties, movements like the Tea party, libertarian parties and such. and then you have the extremest and we all know how dangerous they are. |

I believe this is truly the land of confusion ... ha ha... two grand songs done by ... genesis and disturbed... say it all ... my personal opinion/observation is that with the advent of the internet and the constant push to promote greed and narcissism, politics has begun to put a mirror up to how people value and communicate with each other. It is hard to think about the middle when we are so encouraged to think only of ourselves. |

A constant push to promote greed and narcissism?
You need to explain this. As in for politics, if you look back at your country's history you will see politics has always divided people including families, why do you think the Republican party was created ? The new Republicans had a falling out with the "whig" party over a number of issues one of them slavery. Why do you think the Democrat Party was created out of the ashes of the Democratic Republican party? again over issues. George Washington wasn't affiliated with any party John Adams was a federalist Politics has always played a role. |

What I have noticed about political forums in general, is that it will always reduce to: "you should think the way I think" "no you should think the way I think" "Ive given you a great reason to think the way I think so you should think the way I think" "NO, Ive given you a great reason to think the way I think so you should think the way I think" "Cleary you are an idiot" "No, cleary YOU are an idiot" ect ect but its actually spelled etc etc klc this |

I think that political parties divide our nation.
We the people of these United States has turned into a power struggle for supremacy in the political arena. At the personal level it has turned into a battle between democrats and republicans that often results in name calling and other childish tactics. Personally, I think party affiliation should be removed from this nation completely as it does more to divide us than unite us. It may have worked at one time but not anymore. |

I agree tom .. but feel a lot are speaking out more ... and protesting is good... so long as those don't get destructive that are just there for that part of it ... I do not like the President on twitter ... it mainly makes him look like a fool & our country ... he always seems to retract what he might have said the day before ... I have learned about so much politics in these last few yrs that ... sometimes I feel why should I care ... when it seems all bogus... they try and do things when it all should be a personal choice ... but can't seem to get a grip on gun control and immigration ... two large groups that run this country ... and people of great wealth ... |

I think it is all theatre, which some think is real.
Only the results of the laws they pass are real. politicking is just gaining enough followers by any means to allow you to do what you want, or can get away with, with majority agreement or acquiesence. Polls = who has the most followers / believers, according to the parameters set by the polling survey or system in use at the time. Easily manipulated, skewed, or mis-reported. |
