I came here because it doesn't cost me. I don't know how the site is kept up -- someone has to pay -- but I'm grateful that it's not me. So, I am thankful for this site. But I'm already discouraged because I'm a real woman living in Ohio, and the only people who are messaging me are fakers; either men masquerading as women from foreign countries and lying about their background and where they are now, so that they can try to get money from unexpecting sweethearts here, or women who amazingly are as aggressive in sexual ways as any man I've ever met, and want nothing but cybersex. Where are the real women who want genuine friendship, love, or a real relationship? And I've been messaged by men here who can see from my profile that I'm interested only in women, and they openly and aggressively try to talk cybersex in disregard of everything on my profile, and some of them argue or disregard my preferences, repetitively attempting to get me to change my mind. I'm kind, so I try to let people down easily if I'm not interested. But some of these characters really should just go to an openly sexual site and see how they fare there, instead of polluting this one. So, that's what I wanted to say. Tomorrow's another day so maybe I'll have better luck. Whoever reads this, thanks for your attention.

Avigail well, if it's the first time you're on dating sites you might get surprised by the shallowness of people, as they obviously doesn't really want a relationship. There will be a lot of the things you talk about... But don't lose your faith, please... Suddenly, maybe after weeks or months, she turns up...

You will find many men chained to the idiot lurking, I get my fair share of them, as do we all. Please try not be too discouraged, as Kic suggested, use the various profile/mail settings and of course make full use of the blocking facility, I know I do! Do not give up just yet, but know, in forums, there are some really nice people who are always willing to help you out. Stay positive, try to enjoy and as hard as it may seem, as Von said, have faith.

I joined for the same reason and I am getting discouraged too I have my setting taken care of. But when these men message me half of them seem to type like they are from another country. Also I can't tell if they are real men or someone who is using some other person's pictures to meet women for some other reason than what this site is for. I am really starting to think no one meets on these sites and end up together. Too many of these men want you to message on KIK, Whatsapp or google hangout and when you say I feel more comfortable here they get upset and say they don't like the site.

I agree with everything you just said. I get the people who talk like English is not there first language even if that doesn't match what they say on the profile. I also get people using the same profile picture for more than one account each with different names. It is so frustrating. I'm 45 and I also get 22 year old guys even though they are much too young for me. I sympathize with you

Welcome to Mingle2 This is a free site which means anyone.. and I mean anyone including their neighbors and their neighbors' dogs can join. Your mail filter is set for female, that's it.. so any female at any age and anywhere in the world can message you. Set more restrictions on who can message you. Be discerning and always keep in mind the old adage that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Join us in the forums and meet the Mingle2 community.
