President Donald Trump turned to Twitter Wednesday to slam critics of his meeting and press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
“So many people at the higher ends of intelligence loved my press conference performance in Helsinki,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

He said the meeting was successful, insisting he had made progress on several issues important to the United States.

“We got along well which truly bothered many haters who wanted to see a boxing match,” he wrote. “Big results will come!”

He accused critics of wanting to go to war with Russia, rather than work together on key issues.

“Some people HATE the fact that I got along well with President Putin of Russia. They would rather go to war than see this,” he wrote. “It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome!”

Trump said the sanctions on Russia would remain but that Putin was willing to help handle North Korea.

I will say this. Time will tell, and the history books will tell it in the future.

I have personally always preferred a POTUS who will negotiate with ALL sections of the world if the negotations make sense. I dont believe anyone is ALWAYS right or ALWAYS wrong. I remember similar skepticism and criticism of almost every President in my life time for meeting with governments or leaders considered to not be allies of the States. But our allies are not really the ones we have to make difficult negotiations with, because they are already our allies.

There are many different issues for governments to collaborate on internationally and other issues where there should not be compromise. They can co exist across the same nations. But words are also just words and leaders can say one thing without it coming to pass. I dont have a problem with leaders meeting with other leaders. The problems only come to rise with WHAT the meetings are over and WHAT is being attempted during them and whether protocol is being followed in those meetings and before those negotiations are made.

it all depends on what your own,personal definition of 'successful' is!!

if kissing Vladimir putin's a$$,and throwing your own country under the bus to do it is what you consider 'successful',then, maybe you are right.

THAT is not what I consider successful,though...

I consider THAT more treasonous,than successful,but,what do I know...

I only WENT TO WAR,and served honorably to defend this country,and its constitution.

all donald trump did was pay a doctor to claim that he couldn't serve because he had 'bone spurs'.
[but,he lied,and certainly WAS successful at dodging the draft when his country needed him,wasnt he?]

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

it is this issue of 'giving aid or comfort to' enemies that usually has lead to Presidents being accused of 'treason'.

In the position of POTUS, it is another word game people often use, because the POTUS often must talk to and even negotiate with perceived 'enemies' and that can be perceived as giving 'aid' and 'comfort', especially if favors are traded in any way without Congressional vote/approval/support.

In the case of Trump. It may perhaps be his meetings with Russia and North Korea that have ignited the flames.

Sanctions against Russia remain. The democrats are still hoping for votes based on putting Trump down. It gets old. I'm already ready to move on to the next Trump bashing. What will it be tomorrow, CNN? :thinking: :stuck_out_tongue:

I am calling him 'treasonous' because he is siding with a foreign power who has technically commited an act of war against his own country,instead of doing his job and making sure that they are held accountable for it,and making sure that it doesn't happen again.

it is HIS JOB to take the side of the unite states,and defend this country against ALL ENEMIES,BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC!!

so,technically,i believe that what he has done/is doing DOES qualify as 'treason',cuz if a SOLDIER did what he is doing,then the would DEFINITELY be charged with treason under the Uniform Code of Military Justice,and,technically,he IS a member of he military,since he is the 'commander-in-chief' of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UCMJ Article 104: Aiding the Enemy
A service member of the United States armed forces who supplies aid to an enemy of the state in the form of arms, ammunition, supplies, money or intelligence; or any service member who knowingly protects or communicates with the enemy may be charged under Article 104 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Article 104 is considered an act of treason by the United States government. And like all acts of treason, the penalties are severe.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

there it is in black&white...

article 104 0f the uniform code of military justice,which as commander-in-chief,'president' trump falls under it rules,and he is knowingly protecting them,so....

what Donald trump has done qualifies as TREASON,no matter how badly his supporters try to deny it!!

welcome to reality!!

I read section 3 and the definition of "enemies" is defined as "A country on which the U.S has declared war or is actively fighting"..modern day Russia doesn't fall into either category..so nyet..lol

and then of course one could argue the point cyber war and another debate would just ensue..Honestly I think people ought to just chill and watch..there is of course a plan..and the nefarious ones will be weeded out.I just think people are allowing the MSM to lead them down the wrong path..in fact I know they are..The Deep State is hard at work because there is so much they don't want revealed..I have done extensive research on a lot of this..Trump is trying to help the people..we just have to be patient ..You will see when it's all said and done Trump is not a traitor..he may have misspoke ..big deal and that's what they do make it a big deal and get people worked up to do their bidding..watch what happens. In the end...you will see who the real traitors are ..just give it time..is that another canary singing..tick tock

The real irony, is that the same traitor, claim to have an absolute right to enact a "Muslim Ban", because it was his responsibility to protect the United States.

What he was really doing, was trying to save it for his master Vlad.

Uh, just when did Congress declare war on Russia?

What legal document defines Russia as the enemy of the USA?

Even during wars, political leaders meet with enemy leaders for the purpose of putting an end to war.

By the way, President Trump isn't a member of the U.S. military.
The Commander-in-Chief is a civilian.

It doesn't matter what good Trump does, the left hates him with all of their fiber and being.

Trump could create millions of high paying jobs through his policies, make healthcare affordable and Americans enjoy prosperities like the mid 80's and late 90's it still wouldn't matter.

The only thing the left wants to see is Trump out of the white house, indicted, impeached and never heard from again.

That is truly sad.

the same with the 'right' towards Obama, under which we actually DID see healthcare more affordable for millions and more jobs

extremists on both side, even Trump said of his supporters that he could stand in the middle of fifth avenue and shoot someone and none of them would stop their support

so too many Americans on the 'right' and the 'left' are guilty of caring more about the WHO than the WHAT

and that is sad

Im interested in discussing the messiah Barrack the 44th, because Donald J.Trump is the current president.

and by the way millions of Hardworking americans would disagree with you.

And its been that way since the Berlin Wall and Soviet Union Collapsed, when the marxist leninist powerhouses existed, Americans were more united.

When Clinton arrived the identity politics reared its ugly head and most republicans were too weak to stop it.

Im not sure how to measure 'division'. America has always suffered from it, since the days of the Civil War, the Confederacy, Slavery, Japanese Internment, Native American Genocide, segregation, even before Clinton, Bush Senior took home the election with images of 'Willie Horton'

... the list goes on and on

there has always been internal division of 'us versus them' identity politics that cared more about WHO than WHAT.
