Undocumented immigrants don't qualify for social services. At least not in the United States.

you mean like Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC),Emergency medical care, including ER visits and Emergency Medicaid, schooling.

the undocumented immigrant doesn't receive welfare directly, but if they have children born in america they qualify for

and this is what I found in the State of Texas

Undocumented immigrants cant apply for SNAP themselves but on the behalf of their American born child(ren)

they can get access to Child and Adult Care Food Program, the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.

That program provides nutritional supplements and health education for pregnant women, breastfeeding women and their infants up to five years old who are deemed "at nutrition risk" by a medical doctor

sorry I had to ruin your delusion with some actual facts viper.

all this abuse of power on the taxpayer dime is

nothing new in the history of mankind.

Perhaps they should do wellness checks on these officers

statements like these just perpetuate it.
Who is "they?"
And when the next article is "wellness checker uses power to molest wife of officer who used power to molest kid of..." are you going to say "they" should start doing checks on the wellness checkers who wellness check the police?

Or are we going to start going more draconian?
Say institute rules where everyone that gets elected or into any kind of civil service whatsoever goes through surgery to make them a eunuch, takes pills to offset any kind of sexual impulse that may influence decision making? Must live in a padded room for the rest of their life, with their only access to the outside world via drones and robots? And can receive absolutely no information with any kind of emotional bias whatsoever?
Something like that?

Most of the problem with government power abuse ultimately stems from the people that continue to say/believe "they" should do something.

thank goodness there are laws to prosecute those FOUND to be guilty of abuse.

That doesn't really help the victims all that much.
The kid(s) was still abused, or the person was still murdered.
Prosecuting people doesn't really change that.
It doesn't magically make what it does to their bodies, their psyches, their personality, disappear.
At best it makes you (a person outside of the situation) feel better and gives you a false sense of security.

With all the increasing laws to prosecute those "FOUND" to be guilty of abuse, or whatever...are our prison populations nonexistent? Are criminals de-arming? Crimes becoming less severe? Pedophile crimes nonexistent and not leading to them finding new and innovative ways to get around the rules?

Other than that "FOUND" to be guilty, doesn't necessarily mean actually being guilty.

it is so interesting how the underlying premise of taxpayer money is being overlooked ...

It doesn't seem all that germane if there's an assumption that the person is going to molest kids whether or not they're being paid by the taxpayer.
Also relevant, I don't think the employment ad on craigslist stated "looking for someone to join the sheriff's department. Must have prior law enforcement experience or justice degree. Primary duties are blackmailing parents to molest kids. Must meet state mandatory 40 diddling hours a month."

It's not being subsidized by taxpayers. It's just a molester who happens to be paid by taxpayers because of their "job," the power associated with the "job" is being used to facilitate his molesting of a child.

all this abuse of power on the taxpayer dime is a shame really.

Have you ever seen a movie that was associated with Harvey Weinstein?
Lord of the Rings? Pulp Fiction? Scream? Jackie Brown? Shakespeare in Love? Chocolat?
Do you still watch movies, or t.v., or read books, or buy anything whatsoever?
Do you believe that there are no child molesters or rapists or harrassers in the movie, t.v., or book business, or in any consumer product business?
How do you know you aren't directly subsidizing the behavior?

There's really no difference.

Taxpayer dime, or your own personal expenditure, if the money isn't being advertised as being used for that purpose it doesn't really matter if it's on the taxpayer dime, or from you buying a movie ticket.

"Abuse of power" is abuse. It's a "shame" whether it's on the taxpayer dime or not.
Saying "they" should do something, is just another way of saying "let's give them more power which can be abused."

Hummm let this sink in if you think they are not getting help.. All I know over 27 years ago when I got my divorce and had 2 kids to raise I actually tried to get food stamps to help me out one of the questions was are you legal.. I asked them what if I said no would it keep me from getting help? I was told no that it would be put on the paper work but would not stop me at all.... I got a whopping $80 a month when it was time for a review they was knocking it down to $60 I told them just to forget it I could make it on my own now... I knew of a family that was getting it and 4 times the amount I was getting.. Yea the system is messed up..

This is what I just found shows they do get help still....regardless if they are legal or not..

http://econofact.org/do-undocumented-immigrants-overuse-government-benefits

There are some federal programs that serve those in need, regardless of immigration status. Programs that serve undocumented immigrants include school meal programs, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Head Start, and various in-kind emergency services. Undocumented immigrants are also eligible for Emergency Medicaid. This program typically covers acute medical situations including childbirth but not longer-term treatment for chronic conditions, even if they are life-threatening. The services provided vary by state. Emergency Medicaid is estimated to cost about $2 billion per year, well less than 1 percent of the overall Medicaid budget, and most of that cost is thought to be attributable to unauthorized immigrants.

I knew about school lunches and ESL classes, but they get more than I would have guessed. And ANYBODY can get treatment at an ER regardless of status or nationality.

Think it has something to do with that Hippocratic Oath that doctors take.

Ironically enough, I was picking up a friend from the hospital a few days ago, when it was placed on lockdown because a gunshot victim had just been brought in to the ER.

What a shock! The guy was Asian!

you said that Undocumented immigrants dont receive any federal assistance ( well you said they dont qualify for social services) and I replied not directly but there are federal programs.

No other country in the world has these types of programs that helps out anyone .

This is why people are flocking to the United States, and if you people dont get a hold of your immigration policy you will be bankrupt within a decade.

or the gap between the Rich and poor will grow so expediently that it will be a race between China and USA to who will have to most billionaires and poor people.

Getting Medicaid and foodstamps for your newborn baby isn't the same as your sister winning the lottery  It's the same as an American applying for benefits. The difference is Americans have a ss # and have to report wages. The Mexican women have men working for cash. That's how they live so well. They are qualifying for benefits while Americans are being turned away after paying into the system.

Assuming you're correct (Big Assumption), you're saying that those AMERICAN CITIZENS that the undocumented immigrant mothers are raising will one day grow up to stand in front of Home Depot working for cash?

Most likely they'll go to school, get an education, attend college, join the military, and have productive, taxpaying lives.

I was at the hospital for a stay a month ago. While I was taken in thru the emergency room and they were imputing all of my health coverage info, at least 5 Mexican mothers came up to the desk to get treatment for themselves, there kid or their mate. All appeared to have minor sicknesses all flashed their ( N.J. Family care card). All were using the emergency room as their primary care doctor.

why?.. well, so they didn't have to pay.. anything. The New Jersey family care health care is for free to illegals. No deductible.. no out of pocket.. even for prescriptions. no questions asked.

well, not for free.. see you and I pay for it.

Anyone want to see the bill I got from the hospital.. even with the paid health coverage I have?

Hippocratic Oath: Modern Version

"I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.

I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help."

THIS is why they get treated, instead of being sent to the camps.

lots of assumptions there Viper, your friend Miss harmony made it clear that poor people tend to stay poor and its harder for them to get out of poverty because of the system you guys have.

Now you're saying that that most likely they will go to school, assuming its not an inner city school, because if they go to a inner city school the education isn't great to start off with .

I found an interesting piece on the subject

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/alan-singer/why-many-inner-city-schoo_b_5993626.html

While I have no doubt that some of the kids will have the brains to attend college, a few will join the military and have a productive life, but in reality according the stats the odds are stacked against them, the cream of the crop will rise to the top no matter what, the problem is finding those kids.

I'm all for the Officer getting the full force of the law on him and taken down... As far as I'm concerned any one that would Abuse a child specially rape should have their dingle berries cut off..

But what I have a problem with is you putting all Police Officers in this group.. This is about this one officer not the whole department... and what he did...

Myself I do not know one person that a cop stopped them for nothing and Abused their Powers.. Nor do I know anyone that has had a Officer Abuse the Power they have.

The way I understand they do go through extensive training and mental evaluation...

Not saying it does not happen for it does..in ever walk of life... We need stiffer laws on Child Abuse/Rape Period..

i am not trying to claim that all police officers are as bad as this one that the OP made this thread about, but, since everybody has a camera with them at all times nowadays, and now there has been so much photographic evidence of police using unneccessary force, and commiting so many unjustified killings of people, and, even though there is so much evidence to prove that the police officers did these things, but in just about EVERY SINGLE CASE the police officers have been found to be NOT guilty by their own fellow police officers for these crimes, and not had to pay ANY penalty whatsoever for them, except for maybe time off WITH PAY while the investigations are going on,it doesnt really matter how many GOOd cops there are out there, cuz when the GOOD cops keep covering up for,and excusing the BAD ones who ARE bad, then i feel that that makes the GOOD cops just as guilty as the BAD cops who originally commited the crimes that people who were NOT POLICICE OFFICERS would have gone to prison for!

so,until the 'good' cops stop covering up for,and excusing the 'bad' cops, just because they have a badge, and start holding the bad cops accountable for the crimes that they commit, then i have a hard time considering ANY cop to be a truly 'good' one!

with all due respect shovelhead dave

this is ridiculous.

Ever heard of ex-Chicago Police Sergeant Ronald Watts? crooked cop that framed more than 15 innocent people and now he is prison mind you he got a slap on the wrist 22 months in prison or jail actually

what about the widow of Fox Lake Police Lt. Joe Gliniewicz, after police investigated him and led them to her.

many more cases like that, cops are not getting off as easy as they once were, but are you reporting those cases shovelhead?

Why are they getting paid while on leave? because collective bargaining from the police unions made it possible.

Remember unions are good for the average worker right? or at least that is what the left and Democrats keeps saying

Good cops are coming forward because of the whistle blowing laws, before they couldn't because of fears of retaliation, think Serpico from the NYPD an honest cop turning in his corrupt boys in blue, look what he went through.

Unlike you, I don't live in a bubble. Keep in mind they grew up with parents who broke the law coming here, worked under the table and didn't pay taxes, mom scammed the welfare system. Can't expect them to have any respect for the law.
