Swords of streaming ice hang down,
As winter's kiss collides,
Fountains now frozen to the eves,
A child's winter paradise.

Music to their waking ears,
No school announced today,
Snow angels laid upon the ground,
Hot cocoa brewing… children play.

Igloos built beneath the piles,
Snow balls whizzing past an ear,
Mittens clasping mighty frozen swords,
Batting snow without a fear.

Little snow kings and princesses,
With cheeks of roses red,
Laughing, giggling, having fun,
On a huge snow pillowed bed.

The innocence of a snowy day,
A grand winter paradise,
Sparkling snowflakes, drifting snow,
A melting hug behind the ice.

Dashing sleds, bobbing heads,
Snow forts that come alive,
The miracle of the season,
Upon a grand mountain side.

Nice. We're in the middle of a snow globe here now. It was funny as I was reading this, I was thinking, hey where's the sledding, then here comes the sledding part in the poem. It was kinda cool. Very nice job.

WOW Mystique, I felt like a kid again taking me back to those wonderful memories...oh how I miss the snow and those days. I don't like it being cold unless there is snow and being down here we hardly see any of it.

Aww that's adorable! Makes me want to run out in the snow... but we don't really have any snow to run in right now.

I wish I still got "snow days."
