Love hurts because of the loss of everything you used to have and do together and the emotional investment becoming worthless. The circles of friends and families and those relationships is disrupted, and you now have too much free time on your hands to think about it all too much, going through the 'if only's', and 'what if's'; working out the emotional chemicals in your gut and brain, that's why it hurts. If it doesn't hurt, you never had a good time.

Because you put everything into it and your choice of partner does not? Been there/Done that far too often. I know your pain, it is real. As solace I offer a thought... You are who you are right now because of the things you have experienced, good and bad. Good is easy but the bad teaches us the lessons we need to know. Its up to us to choose to learn from and stop making the same mistakes again and again. Love is worth the effort. I just need to be more careful in whom I choose to share my love with. If I find the right person, all the bad experiences and the wisdom resulting from them will be justified. Its a difficult row to hoe but if I choose wisely, the harvest is bountiful. |
