Good day my lovely mingle2 family, I 'm back off a little hiatus, its time to bring more of my hot tea topics again. Shot out all who nudge, winks, & kisses you left me.....wow! you made my day. Okay lets get right into it, Ladies, have you ever been in a situation where you felt uncomfortable @ work? Have a compliment by someone with a touch of touchy feelies was out of line? Men Have you ever been what I call the" Demi Moore Indecent Proposal Act? Well if so maybe you on a smaller scale are a Me Too Head. Let's take the time to define "MeToo" The " Me Too Movement was established by folks that was victims of sexual harassment & assault. Its a group of victims standing up and fighting back. It was created back in October 17th,2017 as a hash tag used on social media to help wide spread prevalence to sexual assault. Look what's going on with Bill Cosby, 50 women standing up and fighting back. Do I think he did it? Well.....I always believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty. Besides, I'm not here to judge him but I do want to start the dialogue so we can understand how America perceive movements. Then There's out children's revolution which they call it " March For Our Lives" Again, another hash tag that morphed into a movement group. Out children's point was to tell the powers of lawmakers enough is enough, I want to feel safe while we get an education. So America are you a supporter of a movement? Is coming together marching & do a rally works? Is Speaking up will bring a better America or hurt us? So let's talk, what's your view on Movements?

Hey there again Host39 and welcome back.

Without movements we may still have Jim Crow, so I am a big proponent of people joining to make their voices heard over the political and social issues in which they seek to be part of a change.

As to the rest. I am sure the state of being 'uncomfortable' happens to us all. It is more important to me the intent of the other party and their reaction once, and only once, this feeling is clearly and definitively pointed out to them. I feel ... and Im saying this as a sexual assault survivor, that we also have a culture where there are very mixed signals regarding flirting and casual sex. I think some women are latching on to the 'movement' to kind of appease their own regrets about things they otherwise willingly took part in which did not end in the manner they would have liked. It is a shame to me that the men they engage with are so easily crucified in media for simply not being able to read the subtle signals or lack thereof. THat a poor goof who did not realize the girl who came late at night to his hotel room did NOT want sex is looped into the same group as those who are bosses or decision makers sexually pressuring their employee by manhandling or suggesting threats ... that is also a shame to me. I do think that legitimate concerns also become opportunities for the hypersensitive to feel like they are part of something.

With Cosby, I have always thought it was nonsense really. It started with the ex druggy model, who has now admitted she fabricated it for publicity for an upcoming book she was writing. After that, EVERY lady who was alone on a bed with Cosby at any point, and some who never were, came forward claiming almost the same story had happened DECADES BEFORE(after it would be extremely difficult to prove or disprove). Even a friend of this one that is in court says the family had it out for black folks and pawned off Cosby for the money.

With the kids who have to go to school afraid of being not just gunned, but MOWED down by these multi mag type guns, I applaud them for speaking up for themselves too.

OF course, a movement is just just one ingredient to actual change, which must be achieved through persistence and the pocket book, as well as being heard by policy makers and the world.

EyeAmYourHost39My Take on movements let's talk about the " March For Our Lives" our teens. I'm quite proud of the fact our kids hungry for laws to be change on guns. When I was coming up our fight was against the Vietnam War & The War On Drugs In the 80's. We had a valid fight but then later we fizzed out but the kids walked out of school to show lawmakers know, we are tired of mass shootings in schools. they tired of losing friends over a disturb teen who action are extreme. they tired of columbine, sandy hook, the Florida shoots , they want to take the fight to Washington. Way to go young people. I can bank on the fact the voter turn out in 2020 will be a hell of a lot different then the last elections. I think young people will vote even harder in 2020 to make sure the wrong powers don't addressed gun legislatives. fars as "Me Too" well I support those who been sexually assaulted who say" I Got fight against my attacker. But I don't support band wagon cases to financially wipe a person for a quick riches. What getting Mr. Cosby in a lot of hot water is he admitted drugging his victims. But I stand by the fact all these other than Ms. Constand are all phonies who wants to get rich. Ladies & Gentle men, what's harassment to you? Can a person compliment a person and voice they are attracted to them or is it a line that should never be crossed?

I agree, because of the difference in modern culture to the drug culture of the time, the admission of drug use does hinder how he gets perceived in terms of guilt or innocence.

To me, harassment occurs if AFTER BEING CLEARLY asked to STOP a behavior in a professional setting, that person intentionally and repetitively repeats said behavior. The important factors is that it has been well and reasonably made clear to the other party that the action is unwelcome and that in spite of this knowledge, the other party intentionally continues behavior.

I say intentionally, because I have had a situation where out of sheer habit, I Called a co worker "hon" (its a part of my day to day vocabulary). she was kind o pissy about it and I apologized for offending her. But I know I still called her "hon" on occasion, though never intentionally, its just so engrained into my speech. So yeah, a clear communication that the behavior is unwelcome and an INTENTIONAL disregard for that communication, to me, is harassment.

Ms Harmony,

Hey welcome back, well coming out and fighting back in any revolution you must be willing to take the sweet & the bitter. You may be ridiculed. You might get arrested, or even in larger movements even death for the sake of right. Remember back in the 70's with the woman's liberation movement. remember how power a group of women got together and now women in my book are dominating corporations. I believe with trump in office it will be another American revolution. It won't be black civil rights or gay liberation or even latino agriculture movement. it will be the citizen's verses corporations.

Hey EyeAm, nice to see you're still alive an kickin.

I don't really follow movements.

I got something to say about movements in general, then y'all can get back to the specifics.

Movements, rallies and protests are a product of too much time and perceived unity. They happen when groups of people try to unite to make a change.
Its the "Save the Whales" mentality.

Most movements, rallies and protests are insignificant.
Some are vital.

Women's Suffrage, Protesting the Vietnam Conflict, Equal Rights are movements with substance. Its what free people do to change life for the better. Our current way of life owes some of the best qualities to the movements of the past.

What is so disheartening about the movements in today's society is that there are so many, it takes away from focusing on the real problems we face.

Our government, in general, has become broken. People are not being represented. To me, that is the issue that needs to be at the forefront.
Movements, rallies and protests against the governmental power elite.
I find it very suspect that none gain any momentum.

Its like there is an elephant in the room that nobody looks at. We focus on the trunk, the ear, the foot but fail to address the whole thing.
Protests that go unanswered/unaddressed turn into revolts.
Movements that go unanswered/unaddressed turn into revolution.
Is there an effort being made to focus on insignificant movements as a ploy to distract the people from the real issues at hand?

If I were king of a country like this one. I would actively and continuously initiate insignificant causes for my subjects to rally around so they wouldn't notice what I am actually doing to them. If they start to notice, I would put down any movement quietly and substitute something that redirects them. Something that has merit but is insignificant to my power base.

Guns, equal rights, save the whales, whatever.
None of them actually addresses the root problem.

I now return you to your rants...

Tom4UHere,

Hey Tom, welcome back, well I respect your view about movements. I mean some use the analogy on " Save The Wales" thinking. I love the fact people are now fighting back for a common cause. We are the people who make , change, and delete laws, not so called congress. How, by voting, by standing together. one voice can't be heard but a mass voices can move mountains. Its very important to teach our American folks political science & how politics runs. Once you understand politics than you can infiltrate it and change it. The one problem in this country we face is people look at voting or politics one dimensional. Oh, if I'm middle or working class I have to side with democratic party. if I'm rich or against socialism then I vote republican. but what if I tell you the glass isn't full isn't half empty but just a glass.

There are parents that dont feel safe enough to send kids to public school, they opt for home schooling or private, but most do not have that convenience.

Wait lol kids feel like they are going to get shot and there parents don’t believe them? Or there parents want them to get shot? Isn’t that child abuse?

choice between two evils, there are dangers to them being at home alone when parents are out working too ... school should be the SAFE option, but for most parents its their only option besides illegally and equally unsafely leaving the kids home and alone all day.

Have the mom take a leave of abstance for serious reasons ! Do you really think employers wouldn’t pay parents to stay home with there kids if they thought there was a serious threat of getting shot can you imagine the national backlash? So again why the fake news?

You must not live in AMerica. there is no 'absence for serious reasons' category that allows anyone to stay home with pay, unless they are some high level position or pregnant.

Lol what? Kids are worried about getting shot and you think employers wouldn’t allow the parents to protect there kids? Lol is this a serious threat? Yes or no?

I KNOW employers DO NOT allow parents to 'protect' their kids if it means they stay home and cost the business money. It does not work that way.

Yes and no. It is not as serious a threat as other things, but it is serious ENOUGH a threat to address.

So kids aren’t I’d fear of going to school? I’m
Confused now

perhaps realizing that I stated nowhere that 'kids aren't in fear' would make it less confusing.

I think the march for our lives is an example of how the left uses whatever means to further their agenda.

the march for our lives is an example of that, nobody seems to care about the lives lost in Chicago from gang violence

None of them seems to care about the violence going on in inner cities, doesnt inner cities lives matter too?

Perhaps if these students paid more attention in civic class or attended civic class and learn while protesting is your right, protesting on the street disrupting people's lives doesn't make your cause a righteous thing.

If you want change how about get all your protesters and march to Capital hill where the legislators are and confront them?

And dont compare your march to the civil right march because that was a real cause.

Just seems, the movements would have
a better semblance of validity, if they weren't
all sponsored and organized by butthurt
components of the DNC and soros connected
groups.

when someone gains support using a hashtag on social media, how does that get tied with 'sponsors' money and the sort. People support what they support and donate to causes they support but few people hashtagging or showing up in these places are receiving compensation for doing so.
