Hopefully this kind of murder Assassination will not happen again.

How do you mean that?
Like Kim Jong Un's brother that was assassinated?
Or like Sergei Skirpal?
Or Bin Laden?
Or all the tens to dozens of state level officials that have been assassinated over the last 50 years?
Or all the bankers and financiers that mysteriously committed suicide by nail gun sometimes to the back after the "great recession?"
Or the school children that are murder assassinated by other kids bringing guns to school?
Or like the guy in the Colorado movie theater?

Or do you mean hopefully people will stop creating martyrs?
Because according to a USA Today article from yesterday, before he was assassinated Martin Luther King Jr. was extremely unpopular to a vast majority of Americans.

Or do you mean something deeper? Like "I hope we learn nonviolent terrorism against nonviolent terrorism works better than violent terrorism against nonviolent terrorism as it simply validates the message without rational thought, as they become a victim of violence, which no one likes because it's scary."

I understand what you imply.
Even civil rights activist leaders is too broad of a term tho.
A civil rights activist is someone that does stuff (speeches, marches and rallies) to promote their agendas.
There are civil rights leaders that promote a wide range of things including but not limited to equality.
Even Hitler was a civil rights activist leader (promoting civil rights of his master race). There are civil rights leaders that promote over-throwing governments, forcing church laws and promoting select agendas.
To someone, any crackpot on a soapbox can be a civil rights leader.

When a 'vocalist' is assassinated, somewhere, someone with the ability to do so, was threatened by what they were saying. In their eyes, they had to be silenced.

I agree

However, It was Hitler's ability to rally his people that allowed him to be in power. Its the same case with any civil leader including our presidents.
Its obvious that MLK Jr. was not speaking for ALL PEOPLE.
Someone killed him because he was threatening something they feared might change. To that group, his ideas were evil and they HAD to stop him. He was damaging their concept of the status quo.

I'm not saying that assassination is right. I'm just saying that any outspoken 'authority' will become a target for any number of reasons.
Even when they gain majority acceptance. Even when they state the truth it is only the truth to some people.

The moment you step on that soapbox, you become a potential target.
The more you promote a change in status quo, the more focused the bulls-eye becomes. It only takes one nut with a gun to stop you from threatening their ideals. The more popularity you gain, the more desperate the nut becomes.

I get your point, I understand what you are saying, I agree.

It's nice when people stop to explain their views on certain topics of real interest.

Im not sure if marching is better or worse than doing nothing at all, but I do applaud those who care enough to do something anyway,

these things can gain national and international attention, and I believe issues never get addressed until they have this type of spotlight shone on them, and it also is a public display to others that their issues matter and they aren't alone in wanting or seeking change.

I guess I won't be marching to a store to buy shaving supplies.
