That's hard. Because anybody can be anybody online. About the only way of choosing a "friend" online, you have to meet them first. That's the only real way of knowing if they fit what you are looking for. So, for me, I don't put any standard qualifications out there. I keep what I'm looking for to myself. That way they don't have to feel like they have to meet my standard. They can just be themselves.

What are your qualifications or standard in choosing a good friends online?
Online? People that consistently engage me in discussions. Not necessarily agreeing with me all the time but offering views that have sound reasoning. I love when someone 'broadens my horizons'. People that show the same interests that I have. People that have a similar perception of reality as me. People that are able to articulate their thoughts well. M2 and similar dating communities are a small percentage of the communities in which I participate. A relatively recent interest of mine. Most of the communities I frequent are science and science fiction based. I'm also active at quite a few movie discussion groups. Of all the communities, dating related communities are the most difficult. The social dynamics vary so dramatically, its often hard to read the people behind the words. Much more complex than other communities. |
