I am a big fan of Soundgarden and Audioslave, so it was sad news about the passing of their lead vocalist, Chris Cornell, he was a great vocalist. His version of 'Billie Jean', is brilliant.

Well I can see that people have posted up many different singers that I would agree with. For me, I love the grunge era music so Cornell, Cobain and Staley make the list for me, sad that these amazing vocalists are no longer with us. Also Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries had an amazing voice too :D

Linda Perhacs. She is an unforgettable psychedelic folk singer from the USA. She has a lovely hypnotic voice. Vashti Bunyan from the same era is another wonderful folk artist from the UK. |

Minnie Ripperton, Teena Marie, Janice Joplin, and Luther Vandross come to mind, Prince, and of course Barry White.
Bob Dylan was a very recognizable voice(not one I cared for, but definitely recognizable) James Brown had a unique sound, very recognizable as well. I also love and recognize Steve Perry's voice anywhere (sang lead for Journey). |

Bob Dylan, Johnny Rotten, Ozzy Osbourne, Janis Joplin, Kate Bush, Bonnie Tyler, Joey Ramone
