How many walls are there? Walls can be made of brick or stone. They may be made in rows of bricks or cobbled together in random order.

I see how one mason used a brick that was rectangular; it was well placed to the end of another. Stacked upon one another they follow a straight line and reach a set height. The mortar that holds them together is wiped clean; leaving creases uniform in size so as to look normal and looking clean and pleasant to the eye.

I wonder if my life would have been different had I been one of those bricks that was identical to the one next to me. If I had fit together with the rest of the world around me would I be different? I wonder if I am one of those bricks that were discarded because I didn’t fit in.

As I look at another wall I see how even the most random of odd shaped rocks can form a pattern. I see one starting the first row, its rather large and triangular in shape; the mason has found another of similar size yet longer. He flipped it around several times to see the pattern in his mind and sets it next to the other. This continues for hours as the mason finds shapes that fit together. He molds this wall in an imaginary line to its conclusion. Sorting stones as he fits them into the pattern conceived only by him. This wall seems to grow from nothing, getting higher, wider at some points than at others. As I look at the mortar it seems to take on a life of its own. It is oozing out from the seems at some points and at others it is wiped clean.

What appeared to be a pile of rocks was turned into a thing of beauty. Ornate in its stature it comes alive as to say I am different from the others. I am not like any other you have seen before; I am one of a kind.

Ask yourself something, have we built these walls in our own lives or has a mason flipped us around till we fit in? Who is the mason in your life? Am I one of a kind or do I strive to fit in with the others? What are these walls we have built around us? Are they to protect us or are they to keep others out?

Thoughts and emotions are the walls in our lives, built by a manner in which only we understand. The mortar is those ideas we keep around us, they are the bond we make with friends and relatives that hold us together.

What kind of wall are you? Can the mortar hold us together? Can the love we hold inside be the catalyst that makes these bonds strong? Will this wall ever be finished? Or will it forever grow as the love inside creates more friends to bond with????????

Wow Really nice! flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

Each rock or brick is different- like a fingerprint.
I don't believe any two could be the same... Yet the morter
helps them fit together perfectly... and the construction
gos on forever...

Thank you all for reading and understanding. Life and love have as many different feelings as the rocks in my walls. To build a wall with the one you love is by far the most exhilerating project of all. I hope all my friends find another mason to join you in building your own wall together, it has taught me many things.

Wow,I never thought of it that way.I even built a retaining wall from stones that I gathered over a couple years. It took quite a while to make it all fit.
