Folks, the title of this topic is a strawman in that it assumes something that hasn't been proven to be true.

What evidence is there that men want stupid women?

There's a difference between dumb and stupid .....recently ended my second relationship: 1st (for 12 yrs) hardly had any education, 2nd )for 10 yrs) had university degree .... It all so much depends on the particular person, social skills mainly.

There is street smart and book smart... and there should be a balance between the 2. Regardless of it being a man or a woman....

there is a difference between smartass, dumbass, jackass, and wiseass.

the trick is to be honest with ourselves where we fall within the spectrum. bigsmile

In nutshell it is proven that no body want a stupid one.

It depends upon the behaviour unless made her stupid after marriage.

About all, I can add to this, Sometimes I feel like I attract stupid and crazy. Me personally, I do not want a stupid, crazy woman in my life. But that's what I always seem to attract. I blame myself. Common sense says that no one comes into your life unless you let them in. So, If you are getting nutty women, or, you're getting nutty men, the first thing you should look at is yourself.

Here's the problem that I've had over and over many times. I meet women that seem to be just fine when I meet them. I'm watching for red flags. But I don't see any. The nutty side usually comes out after about 6 to 8 months. After I've invested my heart. You can tell yourself that you will just stop letting crazy, nutty people in your life. So, what do you do when you meet someone and the crazy/stupid side doesn't come out until a few months down the road?

It's hard to keep crazy/stupid/nutty people out of your life when the ones that you meet are so good at keeping it hidden. What do you do? Just block out everyone? Become a hermit? I've thought about it.

This kind of reminds me of the self fulfilling prophecy Charles. If you look long enough for those signs in people, they will eventually show up. Suppose instead you were to look for signs that prove the person is loving and caring, rather than stupid or crazy? Or don't look for something to "show" up, accept and embrace the person for who they are rather than look for signs of who they might become.

I believe we are all made up of yin and yang. Positive and negative aspects and energy. I think a lot of times though we seek out the yang and want to eliminate the yin. The problem with that is that yin will always return, either in us or in someone we're in a relationship with because one can not exist without the other.

I believe the whole point is to find balance. Embrace both the yin and yang. Accept both energies inside of us and we become more balanced. Once we achieve that, we will attract others who are also more balanced, who have embraced their yin and yang as a whole.

I have found in my own journey this to be true. Any aspect within my own self that I denied or wanted to crush, I would invariably seek out others that forced me to take a look at my own imbalanced nature.

to be crass , people of all genders want the right tool for the job

if you want to tighten a screw, you would use a screwdriver, not a wrench

people also want the right person for the job

the job of janitor needs someone with more physical stamina that intellect
the job of teacher needs someone with more intellect than physical stamina

the same is true of relationships, people want the right person for the job, whatever job they are seeking to fill

if its sexual, probably want someone who is attractive and intriguing more so than some type of intellectual genius

if its looking for someone to talk to, probably want someone on somewhat of an equal experience and intellectual level, than some type of sexual powerhouse

etc...

so, depending upon what kind of 'stupid' one is referring to (not well traveled, or not well read, or not well mannered ...etc...)

I think its more about wanting the right tool for the job, and prioritizing what traits are most important ... I dont think anyone actually sets out to find someone 'stupid' but they prioritize which types of intelligent will be compatible to their needs.

Has anyone considered each person may be smart in different ways?
Each person is stupid in certain ways?

The trick is finding someone that is smart and stupid in the ways that you desire.

As for women being stupid...ever heard of the term Barracuda?
Now, who is the stupid one?

I think I understand you. We all have our imbalances. Our imperfections. That I can accept. That's not the problem with me. When I say "crazy" or "stupid", I mean it literally. I know that I have my imperfections. I know, "I ain't exactly right" sometimes. But God did bless me with lots of common sense.

The people that seem to be attracted to me are right the opposite. No common sense. God blessed me with the ability to reason things out. I attract the opposite. They can't reason things out. They stay in a mess all the time. I'm not a money grubber. I don't mind spending some money here and there. But, I will not spend my last dime. I attract the opposite. They want to spend all they have and mine too. Whether the bills get paid or not. Even if they wind up out on the street.

And for some reason, I seem to attract women with mental problems. Usually well hidden. Used to, if a woman told me that she was taking medication for some mental problem I would still give that woman a chance. Now, I run from them if I know it ahead of time. I know that in a way that sounds bad. But I've never had good luck with a woman on medication for mental disorders.

The last two, they tried to hide it from me right from the start. They lied to me. They both told me they were not on any medication for anything. I wound up catching up with both of them because of the crazy and stupid things they would do. Just for example. The last one, I fell for her. I was trying to find us a place to live so we could save some money on the monthly cost of where she was already living. While I'm trying to find us a more affordable place to live, she goes out and spends 18 thousand on a pickup she didn't need. That was when I found out about her many disorders.

It pissed me off. Two weeks later she married another man. After you go through something like this with two or three women, and the ones before them were not that great either, The idea of being a hermit starts to sound good. I would love to find a woman with common "quirks". I can deal with that. Eccentricities, I can deal with that. This other stuff, Makes me want to go find a cave.

I totally understand where you're coming from Charles, and see what you were referring to. That is a tough one, and I can see where it would want you to go find a cave. I'm had many of times when I felt the same way with my past pattern of relationships. I've joked about becoming a hermit, but deep inside, it really wasn't a joke, I was pretty serious.

The common sense factor has been a huge issue with me as well. And not just in personal relationships. Pretty much every where, work environments too. It was actually one of the things I was actively working on at my last work place. Learning to accept that not everyone has common sense and how to not pull the hair out of my head because of it. At work it's a little easier to manage that though. When it comes to being in a relationship, especially if you're living together, it's much more difficult to handle.

But then I have to remember that what is common sense to me, may not be common sense to another, and vice versa. Finding a way, if there's one, to interact and get along despite our differences, I believe is the key. And sometimes just agreeing to disagree helps.

Best of luck to you Charles, I'm sure some day you will find that perfect one for you. It would be a shame for everyone, including you, if you were to end up hiding out in some cave. :}
