Hey, I want to see some song writers and what kind of songs they have written. I am a song writer myself and I have written more than a hundred songs (some great, some well, not so great). Not every song is a masterpiece in everyone's eyes. I just want to see if there are any creative minds around. I want to see what you wrote and it doesn't matter if it sucks!

You're in a poem, quote and song forum. News flash, you are surrounded by creative minds. Hate to state the obvious and I'm sure you didn't mean to imply if one chooses to express their creativity in a different form other than song they are not creative. Wanna rephrase or better yet, start off the shy ones by posting one of your's. drinker drinker drinker

Hey turtlepoet, put it up. I want to see it. Differentkindofwench, you are right, I didn't mean it like that. I meant to just put down on pen and paper what ever flows through your mind. That is what I do. If it stinks, well so be it. As long as YOU think it is good that is all that matters, screw the critics! I'll put one up soon.

This is a song I wrote over five years ago. Not the best one in my vault, but I like it. Side note: I sing the songs in my head before writing them.

No Way Out (Of Here)

I can't find a way
To get out of this maze
I need all I can
To help me out of this land

Chorus:
No way out of here
No way out of here
No way out of here, at all

I need some assistance
Please don't resist
I need you right now
'Cuz I can't find my way out

Yeah there's
Chorus

I tried so hard
But still I succomb
To the battlezone
Get me out of here
I don't want to die right here

Chorus

Main influences in songwriting:
1) My grandfather: He was an inspiration to me. He was not the main reason for song writing, but for my comics which I have drawn for many years. I have penned a few songs for his memory (he died ten years ago).
2) Chris Cornell (Soundgarden): Cornell has a songwriting ability that is just so unique and it shows in his songs. The songs are dark and depressing which is what my style is mostly. "The Day I Tried To Live" is my all-time favorite song and I try to base my song writing around Cornell's style and that song. It is such a good song.
3) Life (in general): The world around me influences what I write. 9/11 is one of the many things I have written songs about.

Favorite bands: Beatles, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Offspring, and many more. (They play a role in my writing)

Have you trolled around in here and read some of the different threads? There are many poems posted in here that could make a producer drool (goodness no, not mine - my stuff is usually
Dr. Seuss if that, but it serves its purpose for me). What I'm trying to say is people have posted their songs and poems and whatever, short stories, etc. Its a plethora of goodness. Here's my idea for ya. Get a much enjoyed style beverage, get in a comfy position, and troll through and meet the posters and the different styles. Don't try to herd the songs into one thread, you would miss sooooo very much by limiting what you're willing to look at. Enjoy and welcome.

What I am willing to look at is anything. Like I said IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE GRADE A MATERIAL! I cannot stress that enough.

Cl1180....

That is what the DKW is again saying.

There are many poems and songs laced in almost all threads in the forums.

One must look through them all to find them.

Flowing water does just that.....flow !

It is found in and amongst the interactions and is inspired in the living way that would appeal to you.

There are WAY TOO MANY to list and too many authors to suggest any short list.

Browse through all, ALL, of the forums that may hint at what you are seeking.

Enjoy!!!! Welcome to JSH

I would like to hear some criticism on this one I just thought up. More of a poem than a song. This is about someone I lost way back ten years ago on New Year's Eve and it still hurts. Christmas always brings back the loss.

"Bells Of Hell"

Tears are here
This time of year
Want them to go away
It's hard to do
Going without you
Every single day
It was a shock
A real hard knock
That cut me like a knife
When I hear the bells
I think of hell
That was brought to my life
Through all the years
Of Christmas cheer
I will always say
I want you to know
I love you so
And I miss you every day

Now write two that embrace moving towards new love

and open the faucet and break off the handle.

Keep some 'drano' handy and a few towels close by...

...just in case.....laugh

I have written many, many songs, but all without lyrics. I compose for guitar ensemble, so it's a little different. There are many good writers on this site, though - lot of good poetry!

Been there, done that. Most of the songs I have written are about love.

This is one of my favorites. It is simple yet somewhat complex. The song kind of repeats itself a little. This was written back January 13, 2002.

Can You See The World Out There

Can you feel the earth move
Under your feet every day?
Can you see the ground moving around?
Can you feel the hate and sorrow
Others are feeling every day?
Can you feel everybody's emotions today?

CHORUS:
Can you see the world out there?
With the clouds and the sky way up here
Can you see the clouds and the sky way up there?

Can you tell when something's wrong
In the world without it happening?
Can you predict the future with your mind?
Can you show the meaning of life is
Through your truthful eyes?
Can you explain the unexplained for all who are here?

CHORUS

Side note: Not every song has to have a rhyme in it. I look at this song and see a complex message. It can mean whatever you want it to mean. That may have been my intention, hehe. BE KIND!

bigsmile Very nice good one

Well what I was told long time ago poems don't have to rhyme it is what comes from the heart that makes it a poem they are wrote in many different formats but don't have to rhyme at all.bigsmile Just be words from the heart  bigsmile

This was probably my favorite one. It is just so cool. Thanks txs. The songs I write now are spur of the moment, very little thought. This was a thought song.
