Ok... well that's an old school unlimited hydroplane. Used allison and rolls royce aircraft engines at this time. They now use turbo jet helicopter engines.

That's my uncle... just to change the subject lol

Yes, very much so.. also think a few of those were used... also my favorite aircraft of all time.

Ah yes, a lot of these drivers started out that way. My uncle raced Ski boats on the Niagara in the 60s... SK 401, Chevy Too Much

Me too stu, changing the subject again, if you have heard of Duxford Google if not, it's 45 minutes from me. 2 mustangs had a little accident at the weekend, while flying with a b17 both landed ok
my favourite is the mosquito. My father worked on wellingtons during the war.

Oh cool stu, my area is covered in old airfields used by the us. We still have Mildenhall and Lakenheath about 40 miles away.
I think Molesworth maybe shut now, but it was one of the cruise missile bases along with greenham common a few years ago.
