I have several friend requests, and wondering what is the difference between just chatting with someone, and accepting a friend request? Can someone see more of my information, if we are friends?

Not much difference. Everyone sees the same profile of you, whether friends or not. The one difference is, Friends appear on your Friends list so they are easily contactable. Also, only those on your Friends list can leave you testimonials. |

just one more selling point. the only other thing accepting a friend request does is allow private messaging in spite of your mail filters. so if you want to chat privately with someone from the forums who is too far away for example

The sending of friend requests by a strangers is a means to get around e-mail filters. There is no true benefits to having friends on this website other than allowing access past those filters.
