Castle of the Freaks


On that high and rocky cliff,
on that mystic mountainside,
stands the castle of the freaks,

Ravens circle ancient towers,
monuments of fear and fright,
black fingers of the castle's body,

Iron cages full of madness.
Screams of anguish in the DAWN
echo from the ancient castle,

And my ship is thrown by storms
onto those riffs, this mountainside.
And I stand beneath the castle,
a rusty cell, no chance of flight.
And my gaze, it wanders upward,
searching for a single light,
that shines out of a castle window,
a rusty cell, no chance of flight.
And I see a woman, weeping,
clawing her hands with all her might
onto the bars of this prison window,
a rusty cell, no chance of flight.
And I hear her cry for help,
want to answer to her plight,
but I cannot reach the castle,
a rusty cell, no chance of flight.
Then, I see a fisher's lantern,
goddess Hope has sent her light,
And I flee the castle's island,
a rusty cell, no chance of flight.
No I sit here, in my safety,
my skin is pale, like marble white,
and I'm thinking of the lady
in the rusty cell, no chance of flight.
And I know I will go back there,
to that isle's cursed sight,
for my hearts caught in the castle,
a rusty cell, no chance of flight.
