Hmm. Good question.i believe God created someone for each of us like He created Eve for Adam. Yet He also gave us free will.
Due to pride, ego, rebellion and whatever else we let blind us to what's meant to be.
Speaking for myself i wonder if i passed up the one who was meant to be in my life. There is one who comes to mind.
I pray for a partner in life and wonder what now?

There is someone special created by God to fulfill each one of us. That is what I think

I choose who I want!!! And then beg God to make her choose me~

It's a strange combination of both. God sends someone to us for a reason, to test our faith and follow him righteously or follow our own free will and selfishness to satisfy our own interest and happiness. Our weakness and vulnerability as humans is we easily get tempted of the worldly things, sometimes we know deep within us that what we are doing is wrong but still we are just too stubborn to keep on with what we want to do. We follow our own free will and not the will of God. We definitely know in our heart it's wrong sometimes, yet we still continue to do the things that makes us happy only to realize later that it's only temporary , we make wrong choices/decisions and end up hurting, broken or a failure in life. Only if we become more patient, righteous and steadfast in our faith in God's will and in knowing that he has a plan and something better in store for us, then maybe we could avoid choosing the wrong decision in life. God will let us find love in his right time , and the wonder of it all, love happens unexpectedly when you are not looking for it

God is busy running the 28 billion cubic light years of the Universe.
He set chaos in motion to cause random interactions and pairings.
His will is far beyond the scope of an animal on a tiny planet.
To try to assign the chance meeting of two individuals in a closed system to God's will is trying to determine the will of God. Its You telling God what He did and proclaiming what He wants.
I'm not sure about you but my God is far, far beyond my ability to comprehend and I would never try to dictate the reason He does anything.

I think it depends on your spiritual maturity. There are certain traits that God calls a man to build up and others for a woman. There are even those who don't feel the need for a significant other (Apostle Paul). I believe it is a matter of free will.

Is it truly "FREE" will?

If it is FREE will then there shouldn't ever be punishment for an INCORRECT choice. No reward, no punishment = FREE

IMO, it is a strange combination of both. There is one for every one. You just have to push destiny a little for it to happen.
