Just got back from another gathering- last one till Christmas.
Dysfuntional relatives...
Sorry felt like VENTING. All afternoon I just kept biteing my tongue. Good thing I only have to go through this twice a year!
If it was more than that- I could never handle it!

y do people stil go shoping for the holidays when u can just order stuff online, so u dont have to waste time shopping and can stay at home relaxing and enjoy ur time?????

All I have to say is Thank God I am now happily divorced and I only have my family to go to!! I love being single I remember going to my family and then his family...what a pain!! See, being single does have its good points after all

But I am singel and I still had to go...

Ms. you aren't alone. We had tons of drama surrounding our Thanksgiving. My cousin asked my mom to have dinner at our house because no one likes my other cousin's husband. My mom agreed to have it here but then stuff happened and my grandmother pulled a stunt to get attention, so my cousin (the one who asked my mom to cook) backed out and they were gonna go out to eat for Thanksgiving. So my mom decided to cook the turkey on Monday and have BBQ for Thanksgiving dinner. Well to cut to the point, my cousin, aunt, and grandmother ended up eating Jack in the Box and we ended up not getting to see my cousin and her son (who we don't get to see often since they live about 4 hours away).

I remember when the get togethers were fun and not full of drama... why can't it be that way these days?

i think it was fun when i was younger ..i never realized all the bs that was being served with the turkey(s)...

You know its not a family gathering if at least 2 of these dont occur
10. someone yells aunt tillies dog pooped on the floor
9. grandma is hammered before the turkey is in the oven.
8. You over hear someone saying.. alright but if I tell them you better be there to call 911.
7. The uncle that is always invited yet no one wants to come as he knows it all.
6. There is at least 1 feud going on amongst a immediate family memeber and an in-law.
5. Someone who doesnt have kids tells those who do "if there were my children... "
4. One family member shows up with her "date" who turns out to be at least 15yrs her junior.
3. They make out infront of everybody.
2.The turkey is burnt to a crisp because everyone is fighting over how long to cook the turkey.
1. The cops show up.

I had #6 and #4 about 3yrs ago and almost #1.. :)

It was a rather peaceful dinner (though we had Thanksgiving dinner on Monday). Just my parents, sister and both our boyfriends (they are both within a few years of our own ages...lol). However #10 sorta happened, but it was one of our cats that pooped outside the litter box. She has a thing with going into a dirty box. Guess my sister had it right when she named her Princess.

It was my daughters and me for Thanksgiving and we all think it was the best one yet!

I am the dysfunctional one of my family....is that why they put me out at a bus stop and drove off real fast???

My Thanksgiving was great with my kid's Thursday!

It was the gathering today with some relatives that drove me nuts! (places eyes rolling around emotioncon here)

I just feel so blessed to have such a great family....we get together several times a year because we not only love each other we like each other too!! At any given time there could be anywhere from 15-30 of us w/ no drama and always lots of fun! I have had friends tell me I have the family everyone else wishes they had.....I for one have to agree!!

My Thanksgiving was nice with only a few undercurrents, so I'm not going to complain!!
