A friend used to be
there through thick and thin
A friend seems to now be
only there when its laughter, and fun
What happened to people
That now friendship
comes with a price tag
of what you can do for them
What happened to the times
When you got together to laugh
to cry, to have fun, to give a shoulder
When did people become so judgemental?
When did the world become so self centered?
When did friendship fall into the black hole?
When did friendship stop being what it was meant to be?
those are the questions that I now ask
but no matter what I can not change
into the new friendship that is seen today.
For me a friendship will always mean
to be there through the thick and thin
to be there for laughter, the fun
the shoulder for you to cry on,
the ears to listen when you need to talk
giving the hugs that are sometimes so needed
the times may have changed
and I have not kept up
when it comes to this black hole of friendship
I will keep staying on the top
looking down into it
not venturing into it
because a friendship
should be what it used to be
a gift from the heart
without a price tag to be seen

A good question, has the world changed so drastically that we have given up caring for each other? . Friendships should be based on trust, honesty and more importantly, support for each other. I am so glad you raised this subject

I'm right there wiht ya.I don't like what people call freindship anymore.Don't make any sence.I will stick to good ole freindship like it used to be.Maybe people will read freindship and try it.

Pam , your so right guess that is why in real life I don't
have the friendships I do online for I'm a bit old fashion.
I dont believe in stabbing your friend in the back to get
what you want out of life had it happen and well it sucked.
So I cherish the ones I have made here instead and only hold
certain ones close. You see yur not the only one that has
noticed good write and ohhhh so true. kuddos to you

It is so sad but true, friendships are clearly not the same anymore. I think people generally take advantage of good hearted souls, it's just how I feel
