It's the same old story.. week after week. Different place around the globe.. same terrorists. Seems like each time ( like this) the guy was on the radar with the law, but still they ( its a cell of terrorists this time) were able to carry out the senseless murdering of innocent people.

Something is wrong with our global Intel

It's not the intel it's the legal system. They can't arrest or hold someone until they have committed a crime so it's difficult.
We one of the best intelligence services in the world. Last night on our news (I'll get criticised for this as apparently our news is wrong!) Our government was furious about why us Intel leaked info to us media.
Not a reflection on us Intel, some dick making a buck I guess!

These terrorist attacks have been killing women and children for decades. What makes the Manchester attack any different? Until the world as a whole deals with the root causes of these hideous crimes they will continue. And no doubt get worse.

I think your comment comes across manchester doesn't matter?
I'm sure that isn't what you intend?
It is always different when it is your home town/city or Country. Agree that it will get worse and all countries should do there bit

Of course Manchester "matters". The killing of innocents always matters, whether it's across the street or half a world away.

The OP was asking if a "line" had been crossed. It was crossed a long time ago.

Hi yellow rose
Our 2 countries Britain and the usa have the finest intelligence in the world it's some of the other countries that need to act.
It's unfortunate and beyond belief that I think it was the new York Times that had important information leaked to it.
This has put a strain on intelligence sharing between us but it will get sorted. Probably someone trying to make trump look bad.
I've said before and not sure how it works in the US but unless you have enough evidence you can't arrest or lock them up.
I was a bit hard in previous comments and no malaise was meant.

Who is really to say who leaked what or why. I don't know.

I never said lock anyone up. Not sure where that came from. All I asked is what other countries are trying to do

Here, we are battling terrorist attacks. At the same time, we have a lot of illegal immigration. There is no answer to please our country as it is

The terrorist attacks have crossed the line A LONG TIME AGO. Example 9/11.

Yes the 'line 'was crossed a long time ago. We have a similar problem with the immigration here to hence mainly why we voted to leave Europe.
As for who leaked what is the 54 thousand dollar question. Some people have no scruples when it comes to selling papers. What ever were they thinking of?and they are on our side!!

Well here we can hold them for questioning but I know you can't arrest someone without a crime or probable cause. I don't know about other countries (I know some like France have experienced terrorism). I don't know how many besides this one your country experienced. I know we have had 9/11 and the Boston marathon bombing etc. Something needs to be done. I don't know what. That's why I was curious

With that said, I do understand people that say lock them up (whether I agree or not)

These are scary times

Well we have had many including 7.7? In London
We had it for years with the ira! All over the country. Hence why our intelligence gathering is envied world wide.
The last few years we've had several smaller incidents. Lee rigby for one. You can Google that. To much to explain here. The main trouble is even if you suspect someone you can't detain them until you have enough proof for a court and of course the greedy lawyers who want to get them off!

I feel for all countries going through it. Many countries show support to others. I think the US and UK do more. Maybe that is why we are allies. I don't know about other countries but maybe high security? Could be profiling or whatever but I would rather be safe than sorry

These quotes are getting very long!
Yes it's the same.
It's all very sad I think. What ever the cause maybe from years ago I can't see an end to it.

I think this was resolved last night.
I think it's appalling how the media acts and it's not just yours but ours to. Always wanting to break the big story regardless of the consequences.
We both have great intelligence as I've said before let's hope this didn't hinder the search for the others. We have made several arrests and it is on going

Me to .we have been allies for years. We have a few air bases not far from me and my nephew served with your guy's in afgan and other places. The media just love to stir it up and others don't like the closeness we share. Not sure what the answer is or how and when it can be resolved. Let's hope sooner rather than later.

And yesterday in Egypt, 28 Coptic Christians were slaughtered ( in their bus on the way to church) by 8-10 gunmen.

children and the elderly are among the murdered

But the Muslims are not targeted Christians... right?.. Isn't that what some would have you believe... Hmmmm

these people were slaughtered for one reason.. and one reason only. Because they were Christian.

We all must brace up to deal with terrorism.

It's everyones problem.....
