If you are not available to date, on a date site? well if they are looking for friends , making a profile will help let people know a little about them , likes and dislikes and this is not just a dating sight it has lots of people here that are married , not looking , or single and happy just going for forums and friends that they have made along the way <shrug> best wishes on your hunt |

The above, plus plenty of people have to go through a PROCESS of becoming ready to try again, and that process usually includes a certain amount of socializing without serious pursuit of a mate. So lots of people join and participate in such as this as a part of BECOMING ready to date.

maybe its because of the freedom that we can be whoever we want and release all our angst to people who dont matter

Yup, met a wonderful man last year  But I simply like the forums.
It's a different thing of course if someone has found love and/or is involved and is looking for something outside of that... But I have clearly stated in my profile that I've met someone. Since not everyone checks profiles and just sends messages -that do say they've read my profile btw, lol- I still do get messages saying stuff like; "I really like your profile! I'd like to get to know you more." Always makes me wanna reply: "Please put on your reading glasses and read my profile again! Oh, and stop talking out of your rectum while you're at it" hahaha But I'm a nice girl, so I usually simply delete. . . . |
