You have to be kidding me. By that logic every culture that does not believe in Jesus or never heard of him could not have been forgiven? Am I missing something here.

The whole idea that life is all about being forgiven of our sins has got to be the sickest philosophy that mankind ever invented.

The idea that all men are sinners and there’s no way out of it other than to accept one specific “religion” as your savior is utterly crazy in my mind.

The idea that a supreme all-wise being would construct such a system to ‘save’ souls just make absolutely no sense to me at all. Especially when this supposedly all-wise and all-powerful God has to deal with this stupid evil devil fellow like a thorn in his side the whole way through the process.

It’s a crazy story! The Lord of The Rings makes as much sense!

This all-powerful God seems to be locked into some sort of poker game with the devil with human souls as the games ‘chips’.

They already cleared the board once with the Great Flood when the Devil won the first round and God had to surrender all the human chips! The devil seems to be beating God at his own game!!!

Is it possible God that might actually LOSE this gambling event???

He clearly lost the first round!

This is the craziest story on Earth!

The idea that it is a story of divine inspiration by a supreme all-powerful being who is ‘perfect’ and has a Master Plan just doesn’t appear to fit the actual stories! Everything seems to be going haywire!

However, if these stories were indeed made up by men to control the masses and strike up the fear of God in them. The only thing that is certain is that they sure did WORK!!!

Maybe that’s a good thing!

I actually talked to a couple people on forums who said that if God doesn’t exist they wouldn’t have any reason to give a flying **** about anyone! (their own words!!!). For people like that I’m glad Christianity exists!!!!

I think those people are showing precisely HOW the system was intended to WORK!!! And HOW it CAN work!!!

When I think about religion I tend to think in terms of my own life. My behavior isn’t dependent on whether or not there is a God. I don’t turn to religion for moral values, I already have perfectly good moral values. Not to imply that I’m a saint, but if everyone were like me there would be no need for police, or lawyers, or locks and keys. These things just wouldn’t be required in life. You could trust anyone with you possessions or your life and not have the slightest bit of worry.

Of course, there’d still be natural disasters and disease, etc. But those things aren’t dependent on the behavior of men.

Albert Einstein felt the same way I do,…

I really feel sorry for anyone who needs to believe in religion to “restrain” them from doing bad things!

Yes, it does seem absurd that we're sinners, but we read the ten commandments and we've all choked.

There is a caveat.

A great story to tell the grandkids.

As it says in the book of Romans, those that live outside the law are a law unto themselves, and those that do the law from the heart without the law are okie dokie, bacause their own consciences bear the witness and the williingness to excuse others ill will is an acceptible form of worship.

2000 years have passed and that offer still remains.

Romans 12:14,15.

We don't even need to know that from any other source than our own personal source. Ourselves.

when I read about jesus initially, I couldn't help but notice the self denial and willingness to take the heat for kindness and critical thinking skills to develop, and caring for one another... etc.

That molded a response and hunger and thirst to know more and be His pal. I'm a fan.

And having grown up in SF with the Grateful Dead in the park, and smoking pot with Janis, and partying til we die with echoes of Country Joe McDonald singing " whoopie!! We're all gonna die" as my friends and neighbors were coming back home in a box, and sometimes coming home in only a letter of condolences, while my family scraped and saved to feed 5 kids on a Ma Bell paycheck and praise the war effort, I found myself in a mysterious quandry of a self ingested stupor some years later after Nixon shut down the war asking myself," WTF am I doing this $#!+ for?"

I sobered up quick!!! Let me tell you!!! That was 79!!!!

87 changed my life.

It's not been about sin and salvation for me, so much as it's been about admiring someone that accomplished to display, historically, things I yearned to accomplish from within and through my own young life and could not or would not or should not do in the civilly uncivil society I grew up in.

My awareness of wrongdoing, personally, occured after the fact of having my heart supernaturally circumcised.

Then my faith and my role and participation in it became quite the subjective mystery, conundrum, and acknowledgement of a bird of a different feather!!!!! is this evo, baby?
And that, my friend, is WIERD!!
