Will watch the MACY'S DAY PARADE, then watch Dallas Cowboys play.

I moved out here to be able to have Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family, but everyone has their own plans for tomorrow, we will have ours on Friday instead. Not sure yet what we will do, eat bologna sandwiches I guess. But then, maybe not. Looking forward to a great dinner on Friday. Can't wait.

One thing for sure. I am thankful for what I have and my family means the world to me. That's what it's all about. Giving thanks for what you have, whether it is much or not. Hope all of you have the best one you can have.

I have to work tomorrow but it looks like I'll be feasting alone when I get home. Wasn't even gonna bother doing the whole traditional dinner for just the kid and I but he was whining, so I went and bought the bird and all the fixings today after work. Get home only to find out he's going to his Dad's tomorrow, so I guess I'll be enjoying all the great food myself. Kinda depressing but could be worse. At least I have a home to be alone in tomorrow. Maybe I should go pick up a truckload of homeless people and bring 'em over for dinner!! drinker laugh

But then I won't have any leftovers! sad sad sad sad

And with the kind of luck I have with men, they'd probably eat dinner, tie me up, rape me and steal all my worldly possessions!

Just wanted to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING to a special group of people out there. People like me who have, on more than several occasions, celebrated Thanksgiving by themselves at home.

I'm not sure if I'll be going anywhere tomorrow, which isn't really a big deal, because really its just another day... but I thought it was creative to post something like this.

TM

I hope you have a wonderful day as well.......
My son is going to friends, so I'm here alone as well....

ENJOY!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Last year, because of a family feud I sat at home by myself and watched the day go by.

This year, family relations among the siblings are really no better, and I had to stand up as a man and make a call that may very well have saved the day for all, at least for me.

I always dread the holidays... all of them and every occurrence of "get-togethers" within the siblings. Too much spoiled water has gone over the dam in the last 30 years to give much hope for any kind of future that includes anything but crap and consequences.

If I had my say, all family meetings would cease and desist. But for whatever reason, we keep beating the same pumpkin with the same baseball bat year after year.

Supposedly there is suppose to be some kind of "joy" in a family gathering but all I have ever found in my family is fear and dread of the day and a usual outcome of somebody wanting to boss someone else around in matters pertaining to their life that are of no concern or any of their business.

Holidays are thee least most enjoyable time of my year.

"Heppy" and "Merry" I will not be, but my wishes for you are that you can be... somehow... someway... it would be nice to know there are others that actually find comfort in their families... instead of fear and dread and calamity and chaos...

All year I live in peace, in a very tranquil atmosphere in my own home... then at these times of holiday (ahem) "joy"... I must put on my best suit of armor and deal with these severely dysfunctional people.

Truly the hell of family.

Merry Thanksgiving and Happy Christmas..... I'll be glad when today is over and I can return to my peaceful home.

I too will be sharing this holiday with nobody. My 4 children are spending the day with their dad. My turn is sat. AND they don't want another turkey... so that leaves me to making a ham dinner. Guess no turkey for me this yr. I'm a gbp (gastric bypass patient) so eating 1 c. food doesn't make sense to make a big meal for myself does it.

Just want everyone to think good things, and better days are ahead. There is always someone worse off than you. There's a lot to still be thankful for.

I too am glad to have the days off from school. Giving me a chance to decor. for christmas.

Hey TM, awesome thread.

I've spent the last 13 Turkey day's alone. It's only a big deal if we make it one. I'm okay with it. I don't want others to feel sorry for me.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Thank you Torey, will do. He is an awesome son, I am blessed. He didn't know I was getting all the stuff yesterday so that's why he was going to go to his Dad's.

I hope you enjoy your day as well!

Okay not to be mean or insensitive or anything, but it just bothers me that people feel that they have to have a bunch of people sitting around in order to have a nice holiday- or any day at all. "I can't cook a meal just for me" Why not?? You are a human being, you need to eat, you more than likely enjoy a nice turkey dinner with all the trimmings, so why can't you have one? You shouldn't have to have a bunch of people- family or friends or a significant other- in order to have a meal.

I guess you might be lonely or something, I don't know, but you still deserve a meal. Buy a really small turkey if you don't want a great big one, make a little bit of all of the other stuff and freeze it if you think you can't eat it up by yourself before it spoils. I guess my point is, being single is not a curse. It shouldn't be a stigma, it shouldn't be something you are ashamed of or something you have to "get through." You can enjoy your own company as well as, or even more so, someone else's. And from what I've heard from people on here and my own friends in real life, all most family get togethers are is an opportunity for discord and unhappiness so why feel shortchanged because you didn't get mistreated this holiday? However you chose to spend it, I hope it's nice for you..
