Gypsy - there is no doubt that you are an intelligent woman. You are always very well spoken on these forums and i give you major snaps for that. You are entitled to your own opinion, that is a fact. No claws are out....my feelings are just that.....they may be different than yours but they are mine and Im sure alot of other people's in this forum.

Ok, lets say, a man or woman killing another man or woman for the sake of oil or whatever political agenda is not a heroic........how do you justify killing for someone who doesnt fight himself? Who puts out young children.....barely old enough to shave to kill or be killed???

I know that i am definitely in the minority when it comes to my views on this war. But there is no need to be referring to soldiers as someone who "goes into their country and kills their people" - you make it sound like "soldier" is another name for "crazy psycho lunatic killer". And if you feel that way, that's cool. But as the daughter of and a former soldier myself, that feels personal. That's all i'm saying.

Look we dont not go to war to defend our country any more.. we still havent completed our main goal here in the Mid east.. a guy by the name of Osama... We came to Iraq to finish what Daddy didnt cause Daddy Bush knew it would be more trouble then it was worth... and now look at us... 6 years in and we still havent secured Baghdad!!! Now you tell me Why we are here... and you tell me why we still fight i have lost faith in this war.

Cb, I dont think of soldiers as crazy psychos or whatever.....but they are trained to kill others....I am a pacifist.....I dont believe in killing on anothers soil.....I dont believe in this war. Im sorry you took it personal.....I didnt mean for it to be.

A soldiers job is a hard job and I wouldnt wish it on anyone.....but I do think that defending one's own country.....in your own country is more heroic.

A soldier is also trained to be compassionate, to protect those who cannot protect themselves, to help set up infrastructures. Does he kill? Yes. Is that all a soldier does? No.
