I am sorry , I have this habit of being too quiet and shy around men.I guess I like them to do the leading.They seem to get turned off by this. Am I doomed to never meet someone who will like me?

It might help you to open up more- online though. I used to be painfully shy and have learned to open up here quite a bit... I too like the man to make the first move... but lately I have been giving gentle nugges.  Welcome to JSH!

I think it also helps if you actually have the same interests, so there is something you can actually talk about. Plus, instead of meeting a person on a "date", you can always meet as "friends" and go from there. Maybe you'll feel more comfortable with a different mindset.

I am very shy, but you have to make yourself to be not shy. It does take work, but if I can do it, you certainly can!!

I'm a shy & quiet guy so we're alike.I do get shy and quiet around girls....I always found it difficult to start the conversation with them especially if I liked them.To answer your question no your not doomed by any stretch of the imagination,you are you and if a guy can't like/love you for who you are as person on the inside and out then you don't deserve him.

I am shy as well, I am really not a good conversationalist to be honest with you, I never know what to talk about. Shy girls actually don't turn me off at all because I think it's fun to open up together. I like turtles.
