Love's a tricky thing, period, no matter how old a person is. For one thing, a person doesn't want to have their heart smashed and tell someone they love them if the feelings aren't mutual. It doesn't help that people won't open up, either, it's as if you have to pick their brains, which not only isn't impossible, but aggrevating.
