The problem is that this isn't a sharing of beliefs. This is a tell us what you believe and we'll tell you why we don't like it.
Someone asks for proof that God exists.
I tell them how I proved to myself he exists.
Someone else tries to tell me that my view is incorrect.
I try to explain my beliefs and get sucked into a tit for tat argument that could go on for years.

You guys can believe whatever you want to believe. However, if you do want to find the truth there is a way.

That is what I believe. That god set up certain basic rules and now god pretty much lets us run things according to those pre-set limitations.

Does god ever "tweak" these creations? Maybe. But as far as not calling things "miracles"? That's just another misunderstanding of semantics to me, all the wonderful living things on this planet seem miraculous to me.

As far as proving god doesn't exist...

I don't think even if someone died, came back from the dead and stated that they never saw god that STILL wouldn't prove that there was no god...

just means that particualar person didn't see god.

maybe none of us will ever see god.

that doesn't mean god doesn't exist.

maybe gods just shy.

There are enough burdens in life, I feel no need to create more.

Seriously, if there's a God who requires attention it should be up to that God to do something to attract that attention.

And that MUST be done on a personal basis. Hearsay accounts from third parties just don't cut it because which third party should you believe?



I guess I owe you an appology Magnolia. Maybe I shouldn't have picked on your words. I confess that it ticks me off a bit when people suggest that it's up to me to seek God. And the reason is because I have sought God all my life and never even got so much as a dial-tone!

I finally realized that I was simply expecting too much. I had been raised Christian and I was expecting an actual person-like God to answer.

It's clear to me that the person-like God depicted in the Bible either can't be true, or he lies.

Rather than believe that God is a liar, I have simply choosen to beleive that the kind of person-like God of the Bible simply doens't exist.

I learned about the god of the Eastern Mystics, and this is a god that I actually CAN see as being very real.

A God who plays stupid hide-&-seek games would be a real jerk as far as I'm concerned. You can call that arrogant if you like, but I wouldn't play hide-&-seek had I created beings. So I'm only asking God to be as nice to me as I would be to my pets. If God can't live up to the same standards I do then he isn't much of a God.

I dont believe god does "require our attention".

I think because god made everything so intricately and beautifully balenced on the whole then it's *nice* if you take a minute to appreciate these lovely creations.... but I don't think god really needs or wants thanks or praise...

I mostly thank god for things just to make myself more mindful of all the good in life. To see the bad I need only turn on the nightly news...
