Atomic, why don't you apply some of that advice to the overzealous deleters and non-sensical abusers of the REPORT button.......seeings how they are the inspiration for this thread, anyhow....

LHB....it worked so much better the way it USED to be. Since this is a "privately owned forum", then the owner should be the ultimate decision maker. Or at least appoint a board of responsible moderators to oversee things. It shouldn't be left up to people who come here with issues, vendettas or various forms of psychoses.

Just wait till some smartypants 18 year old decides to post "what's up doc?" over and over and over as a joke. You will be glad you have the vote to delete button.

One more thing Atomic. Could you give some of the addresses of your websites here? Perhaps we could review them and gain some useful knowledge that would be of unparalalled assistance on JSH.bigsmile

She hit the nail on the head.
Moderators who are Not a member here.
Moderators who don't know Anybody here.
Moderators who don't like or dislike anyone here.

We DON'T need Moderators...

We have owners of this site- that over see this site, and
they are doing a great job- if you ask me.

They have given us a right to vote on posts.

I believe some are abusing that right though.

It would be a whole lot worse- with one person deciding everything about our posts. (such as a modarator).

People if a post is that bad then delete it- but leave alone the ones that are'nt bad.

Move out of a post- if it really bothers you.

No one is making you stay in a post.

There are alot of people on here and we all have different opinions.

I think most of us have brains to know weather or not it is too offensive- or if it is hurting.

Stop being so delete happy...

JMHO

That is a valid point, LHB. One alternative to that, however, could be to simply ignore the topic.....you know; don't go there........yawn

they do not have time to

sit there and watch everything

and the delete idea is a good one

it just need a limit on it maybe 5 a week or something

so if you use it stupidly

then you cant delete one that may truly need it

I can only recall using the delete button a few times. Once for the spammer last night who was all over the boards annoying everyone.... on how to make more "bugs"...with cell phone....geesh! And I think there was a really vulgar post out there sometime back, but overall, my feeling is leave the thread if you don't like it. There's many threads one can become a part of, and sometimes folks are a little thin skinned it seems.

Ms. Teddy, I appreciate Mike and Van as much as anyone. The point is, they cannot monitor all the goings on here. A moderator who is non-biased, non-selfseeking is a valid option....but to have a moderating board would be optimal. A team of people who weigh the pros and cons and who take an unpredjudiced look at the issue at hand. We don't need to allow a handful of fellow users to be able to make-or-break a thread.
