I am still recovering from my toe surgery to remove a Bone Spur ( I had the operation on 11/01/07 and I am still using crutches and wearing a special boot and if any of you are going to have any type of toe surgery, be ready for 4-6 weeks of recovering and PAIN.

My left wrist is healed from " surgery to release a nerve", but the operation failed and I still have numbness in the area, so I am going to have the nerve released at my left elbow.

Has anyone had " elbow surgery to release a nerve"? If so, please tell me.

It has been a month since my toe surgery and an the big toe is healed, but yesterday, the toe had to be cleanred with iodine and the dressing changed and the cleaning , hurt and I had pain all night. Has anyone ever had this type of cleaning?

On a positive note, my left wrist is healed from my surgery on my wrist, but I still have the numbness, so in two weeks, I will have the " elbow surgery" to release the nerve and hopefully this will do the trick.

Has anyone had this procedure? If so, tell me about it.

I do not know much about the elbow...but isnt there some type of nerve block or nerve freeze that they can do...

I know with neuropathic pain sufferers there are things like that done

Thanks for the post in " my recovery thread". No, Gclife, due to where he will be doing the surgery, the nerve block or the regional block cannot be done, as the cuff they use to make the arm bloodless, would interfere, so I will be put asleep, but the person doing it, did my first operation, and I had no problem, just a shot in my I.V. Port and I woke up in the recovery room. Let's us hope that his cures the numbness in my hand.

I have. I had two surgeries on one hand, and one surgery on the other. Then I had surgery on both forearms, then my left elbow. The last three surgery's were a breeze. That doc knew his business, They deadened the nerves first, then did the surgery. When I woke up and went home...I never had to take ONE pain pill! Not ONE!! I never had ANY post op pain.
I hope you have as good a luck as I did.

I am having pain in my hands and arms again, but it is my own fault. It is the work I do. I am not suuposed to do more than 30% repetative work in an 8 hour day. Well, that is impossible in my work.
I am trying desperately to get out of it. I believe I have done more damage to my already pre damaged hands and arms.
Good luck again.

Kat

I had my elbow bandage changed today and ouch, the scare still hurts and see the srgeon this Thursday to have the stiches removed. Trust me, don't have hand or elbow surgery if you can help it, because you will experience pain, although the overnight hospital stay was good and I must say the food was good, as I had a couple of chef salads and soups.
