I thumbed through it once in a bookstore and I gather that the big "secret" is that "whatever you throw at the universe it throws it back at you". Then it's got some fluffy New Age ideas and feel-good rap so that you don't feel like you wasted your money falling for it.
Say, I have an off-topic question for ya. Is the CAP key stuck on your keyboard?

" Like attracts alike, so in theory if you think positively and radiate that energy, you will attract happiness, health and wealth. |

I never watched nor read the Secret, cos I felt something was missing. As if the author somehow didn't understand the material.
I didn't know exactly what was off, until I came across Abraham Hicks. The author of The Secret basically nicked the method from Esther & Jerry Hicks and sold it, made a fortune. And when I found out about that, I immediately understood why something about it felt off to me: I don't think the author totally got the message, because she simply copied it, she didn't come up with it herself, so I think on some level she didn't fully grasp it either. How can you when you basically imitate it. And sure, it's a nice start, kind of like a stepping stone if you're new to the subject material still. If you want the full and real thing, listen to Abraham Hicks. Plenty of free material on YouTube. Some is audio, other is with video of full seminars. Abraham Hicks is channeled by Esther. Abraham is what the higher consciousness that she channels is called. Since last year October I've watched and listened to a lot of Abraham Hicks, still do, almost daily, and it has done me a world of good! |

Once in the 1970's & once in the 1980's. He was everything I expected him to be; humble, & intelligent. My mother was blind and my dad was illiterate so I know about shortcomings. |
