Self Esteem

When I wake and look out upon the day
self talk to myself will say
I am bringing my best to the table
to bring positivity and smiles if able

I see in myself a shining light
of self love that shines so bright
Others will feel how I feel
and know that it is for real

Through self talk and thought
I will chase those clouds of doubt
about the faults I see in myself
that others cannot see or help

For in each person big or small
is the special creature good and tall
a creature of light and love
full of peace like the dove

If I find myself talking
full of negativity and self loathing
I stop myself right away
only I can keep it at bay

Self esteem is self love and respect
Not conceit as some would expect
but caring for my spirit and soul
gardening and grooming the root of it all

The respect and love given to me by me
will shine in the eyes of those who love me
A respectful and glowing love busting at the seams
Good self esteem is a base to fulfilling my dreams
