Since you, along with a few other people I've come across, don't seem to look up the information I present to you, I'll tell you straight out. Anonymous is hacker/activist group born on the internet that believes online information should be free. Whenever they present information on the internet about certain topics, it spreads like wildfire because there are millions of people who act as members of Anonymous, and practically anyone can claim to be a member. They have no leaders or centralized organizations because they feel that makes them powerful and everlasting. They also are strong advocates of human rights, and hack those who have committed human rights violations. They make YouTube videos all of the time, and organize protests every so often. One of their famous symbols is the Guy Fawkes mask.

Does that give you an understanding of who "they" are now?

Seeing as the group professes to good rather evil,
or a little evil (hacking) for the betterment of the majority (for good)

I find the logo's do not make me feel full of confidence or feel good?

Anybody can be an Anonymous member...you just need a reason and skills or capabilities. They are just like us...but talking like them.

Extremists!!? that is a big word, reserved to people who harm and kill other people.

Internet security will continue to be an issue for quite a while,and a security breech can have pretty dire results..Jeremy Hammond is a good example of what can happen if secure areas are hacked.
On another note...When you post information of any kind on a site that is not secure,it is stored in the cloud,and becomes part of the public domain. In other words,personal information that is transmitted through the internet on unsecured sites is easily accessed by those with the right tools.

Anonymous could be anyone, it's a group that gets it right sometimes and sometimes doesn't.

I agree with their message but not necessarily their tactics at all times.

Their biggest weapon by far is DDOS attacks.....basically shutting down webpages causing interruption to services.

They are skilled, not a group I'd want to have as an enemy, but not sure I'd want them to be my besties either.

There are white hats (ethical hackers) who provide security services who are just as skilled, but don't have the reach.

I respect their skills....the way they use them not always
