Do you feel there is a difference in being polite and civil, opposed to being nice?

Do you feel some people act polite and civil to fool you into thinking they are nice?

How do you feel????/

Do you feel maintaining a relationship is similar to keeping a steady job offtopic

How do you feel????/

With my fingers mainly
They are well suited to finding moisture

I find being polite and civil, as well as being nice there is no need to fool anyone.

I do find it beneficial not to fool myself into thinking I can go testing the waters willy nilly

You cannot compare the two and if you do you are in trouble from the start. shades

There are some of us that feel the same way. Being polite comes from the heart.

I go with my gut feeling.
If it doesn't feel right I'm off.

Hi Annie...you are right in your feeling on this one.

I think being nice can be an honest intention not meant to deceive...but as the relationship progresses over time you may perceive traits that may be undesirable in the other person. Then continuing to be nice to them becomes a chore and not something you wish to continue doing.

You don't have to be nice if your intention is to fool around. Just be upfront. At least have some decency.

Do you feel there is a difference in being polite and civil, opposed to being nice?

Not really.

Do you feel some people act polite and civil to fool you into thinking they are nice?

Of course.
Politeness, civility, "being" nice, are all ultimately behavior.

People can behave the exact same way while being motivated by completely different things, expecting or wanting different outcomes/responses.

Some people act impolite, uncivil, to fool you into thinking they don't care, or aren't nice, so you'll go away.

How do you feel?

Kinda tired and stressed out, thanks for asking.

my ex is the perfect example of this.. he shows the world a polite and civil, social side whereas he's not at ALL nice behind closed doors!

to me.. two-faced people are extremely dishonest.. and therefore not at all worthy of my trust OR time.. a person should be who they are at ALL times.. mine fooled me into thinking he was the greatest guy in the world.. after marriage.. his Jekyll side emerged and I became his punching bag

mind you.. it taught me a valuable lesson on being more attuned to looking deeper at a persons character and watching for red flags I'd have never looked for before..

Seems everyone has to learn the hard way by mistakes in the past. But we all become wiser to all around us.
