So parts of France have banned burkini's...hmmm...for lack of a more profound statement...that sucks!!! I hear tell the reason for the ban is more or less public safety....and while I do understand the concept, I really dont get how a ban on "burkinis" is going to prevent extremist behaviours...leave it to government officials to penalize the majority ....for the sins of a few. Good thing they arent outlawed everywhere....ill be wearing something very similar to the beach this labor day.

You left out the part about, the fights & riots & burning cars.
* Check YouTube & Euro articles *

And this " majority" of house guests, in other countries...wants everyone & EXISTING LAWS & WESTERN CULTURE
to adapt to them.

Including, swim days at pools, just for Muslim women & boys 10 and under.
They were accomodated .

And there is a limit. As to how much sny country or individual will do or put up with.... to accomodate an ideology that wants the entire planet.

But good luck with that... & the cops. slaphead

Muslims aren't, and have never been,.
a "majority" in France.

As immigrants, living off the hospitality of France,
muslims need to adapt to French culture.
Not vice versa.

I really dont get how a ban on "burkinis" is going to prevent extremist behaviours

I really don't get how forcing people to purchase a product from some guy in a suit working at an insurance company guarantees everyone gets the exact medical treatment they need from doctors.

Sometimes laws aren't exactly direct in their effect.

leave it to government officials to penalize the majority...for the sins of the few

That isn't really the case here as muslims in Burkini's are not the majority in France.

Other than that, governments penalize people. That's just what they do.

Name any law that can't be interpreted as penalizing someone for the sake of someone else.

There are no universally altruistic laws.

And in this day and age?
It's called penalize everyone for the illusion of "safety."

that is the way of govts in so called free societies instead of making the punishment for crime sever enough to be a deterrent -- they pass more laws that the unlawful will not follow anyway -- thus punishing the law bidding member of that so called free society

but hey what do i know

Well they are beautiful.
But not at the beach, you could die underneath one of those
and no one would know.

Rather defeats the purpose of 'sun bathing.'
