Topic: The leaning Lighthouse | |

There once was a light house-
that shone with brilliant light, It stood tall and majestic; In the darkness of the night. Many ships had sailed safely by, As it quietly led the way- To safe passage thru the rough seas By the stillness of the bay. Over the years the light house fell Into a state of disrepair. Though it faithfully did its job Nobody seemed to care. Lets tear it down, its' so old It clutters up the shore We really dont even need it Ships dont pass this way anymore. But there was one elderly man- Who said "you cant tear it down." For long ago with out its light I surely would have drown. It gave me hope to keep swimming. It showed me where to go When the storm had pulled me under and tossed me to and fro. Yes its old and leans a bit- alittle to one side, But we should all be ashamed We didnt take more pride. We shoulda kept her up instead, Lets restore her to her glory She is the leaning lighthouse And she truly has a story. So they painted her and fixed her up and gave her brand new stripes They replaced all her broken panes and polished all her lights. Now there are trees and flowers And she looks like she belongs. And even tho she leans a bit That light house still stands strong. |
