As another day is lost to the twlight
I watch a little more sanity slip away
A beam of moonlight illuminates
The photograph of him
Looking so brave and steady
An unbreakable wall
With the gentlest soul
Stars dance in the velvet nights sky
But the serenity of it all
Was enough to make me angry
I need him here with me
Not trapped in a world
Where gunshots constantly ring in his ears
Exhausted but unable to sleep
My mind drifts here and there
His words echoing louder and louder
....If it's been more than four days

Waves of panic ripple through me
With trembling hands I carefully remove the picture from the frame
A river of tears begins to course down my face
Reality begins to set in
