For the record I am against the war in Iraq. It is a blatant oil grab and positioning American military in the Middle East to keep other oil producing moslem countries in line.

Which doesn't excuse this whore making a post in which she rejoices that American soldiers die or come back terribly maimed and wounded from this war.

That's what I saw.

Then learn about the people you are slagging off ...

You may find out that you are talking about someone who has seen more than any one else in this place.

and talks from firsthand experience

I saw smily faces and the sentence making fun of dead and wounded soldiers.

Whether it was a response to my post, somebody else's post, or a stand alone post, is beside the point.


You do not make fun of soldiers who die in combat, or the wounded who come back the this country without legs, arms, etc etc.

If you want to discuss the legality or justification of this war, fine. Like I said, I am against this Iraqi war 100%. But I draw the line at making fun of the dead and maimed. That is beyond the pale. That is beyond tasteless.

Imagine your son or daughter dying in that war, or coming back to your home with no legs. Or arms. Or blind. Many parents of these soldiers do not support Bush or this war.

So go on. Make fun of the invalids. Or the dead. Isn't it funny?

And still you will not see....reactive and emotional...not clear headed and factual.

I have a son who has fought in these stupid wars....and am against the wars, all of them, every last scrap of ludicrous posturing, and yet I saw no malice in Bl8ant's post.

And Bl8ant has a point...I barely recognised the young man who stepped off the plane, and as to my son, who went to war, he was nowhere to be seen within the shell that came back....for months...

Whether or not the war makes sense or whether I agree with it or not, I'm glad that there are people that want to make a post on here about it. Everyone seems to only care that much about the war when they know someone close to them is there, then they come home and oh guess what it doesn't matter anymore. To me it matters everyday. It doesn't matter if 1 person dies or 1000 it's still lives that meant something and still will, the same reason so many men and women raise their hands and agree to defend this country. I think people need a little more reminded of what's going on, but without the details. War isn't pretty and so things that happen during war can not be understood by people who haven't been there. People need to think a little more of what the people over there are going through also, not so much about how they feel here living their lives just as normal as ever and still managing to complain about it.
