Hello,

Next year I'll be 30 so I've started to think about a sort of bucket list within the next 11 months.

What can you recommend that doesn't involve killing myself? (I'll accept jumping off something tall if it's with a bungee and not landing on something sharp).

Be your own best friend

Love yourself first.

Be kind, loving & forgiving to yourself

Don't compare yourself to other people.

Always remember that you get what you settle for.

That's good advice. Thank you :)

Well DHSaka,

This is what I did starting at seventeen finishing at 29. Drove a motorcycle to 150mph. Competed in Taiwan kwondo competition. Learned 3 languages. Got my Bachelors in computer science. Piloted a small plane. Had my first son. Traveled to Spain and Hong Kong. Completed a great achivement. Installed a fiber optic network in a major US Campus. SkyDived 4 times! After that it's been gravy!

Before I was 30...
- I finished university
- fell in love more than once
and my heart had been broken also more than once.
- I immigrated to Canada
- lived with 5 roommates (all women) in a two-bdrm apt with one bathroom
- bought a brand new Thunderbird
- got my own apartment
- maxed all my credit cards
- became a travel agent and travel the world for almost free

I suggest you finish school and travel.

School and travel already done and dusted ;) although I want to travel a lot more. Maybe I should consider being a travel agent ...

Yes you could do that.. Or,,,
You could become a conscripted secret agent for some shadowy government agency, where travel is included! I mean, I've heard... somewhere...bye. poof!

School and travel already done and dusted? How long ago was that?

Anyway, if you are serious (most probably not) about becoming a travel agent...

Being a travel agent doesn't pay much but the benefits of being able to travel at bare minimum cost, or go on a cruise for free, are great.

Enjoy and be happy

If you havent already, open an emergency savings account that you deposit cash monthly into

Jet ski-ing and ziplining are fabulous!

Take a horse riding lesson . It's so much fun!

Do an inventory of the people you have befriended, and assess the ones who have been draining you of life and inspiration. Wean yourself gracefully and gradually off of them this year if you can.

Start a gratitude journal and make daily entries, It will help you to stay in the majesty of the moment.

As for the bucket list for the rest of your life, nobody does it better than Laz Buhrmann's in the musical speech "sunscreen".

Good luck in the year ahead!drinker

As soon as I graduated from college, I started my career life to reach my dreams. I had been too focused in my work that before I turned 30, I had been promoted to 3 managerial positions already. At a young age I would say I have done that and been there already. I have enjoyed my life to my satisfaction, but then if things are not well balanced , some opportunities could be missed in your life and looking back would give you a bit of regret wishing you have done it earlier and not later in your life. Time you cannot alter or turn back and change is inevitable. Circumstances could change your once organized life and you never know when it will happen. You will encounter different ups and downs in your life's journey but I would say making a goal and plans are important things to achieve your dreams and be successful but you have to act on it to make it become realized. Always seize the day as if there is no tomorrow. Do what you can and what is in your heart for the present moment, give it your best shot , enjoy and be grateful. Success or failure, never stop doing things that would make you happy.
- make a goal, plan and actions
- list the things that you want to do
- focus on your job but make sure you are maintaining a well balanced life with career, love and pleasures in life.
- secure your future by having a savings of your hard earned money
- live life to the fullest and have a happy heart always:smile:
