With an 18 gauge air powered finish nailer, I am working as a carpenter for a renovation company and was installing a 3/4" piece of filler between the front door trim and the door frame as it was a fairly small piece of wood I was installing I put my left middle finger on it to hold it in the gap at the proper place, it was all routine until I pulled the trigger on the nail gun and the nail decided to veer off path after penetrating the first layer of wood impaling my finger and continuing its path to the door frame on the other side of my finger, so in case that was not clear I am now attached to the door by my middle finger it only penetrated the fatty part so it was not all that painful but I could not move from where I was and my other tools where 6 feet from where I was crouched down stuck to the door! I actually found it a bit funny and kind of embarassing. As luck would have it there were some other guys in the unit so I yelled to one of them to get my big side cutters so I could get myself free, when the guy who heard me realized what had happend he started to panic and could not find my tool, I told him to calm down and right where to find it so I cut the nail and pulled my finger off the nail. I just thought this was worth sharing kind of funny but kind of a close call too.

Damn!! You are soooo lucky that it didn't go through the bone and nail! But you are one tough dude for taking it like that.
One time I watched my own grandma saw herself off the roof! I love her to death, but THAT was stupid. She was setting on the end she was sawing off in the first place.Lol,she was okay though. Thanks for sharing!

i did that with a spiker framing a garage

did not nail me to the wall

but b4 paslode put the tapered safty on their spikers it had a half ring style safety stabilizer going aroung the face of the guide

missed the plate with the barrel of the gun and the safty hit it

and shot the spike about an 1.5 inch in to my hand between thumb and finger

fun fun fun fun

lol yea I took advantage of the showing of the middle finger a few times during the day, and sawing yourself off a roof I would have loved to seen that! As for a framing nail Ill pass on that one that had to hurt. Tools are my friends they make me money everytime I use them..except when I shoot myself with them of course.

Three comments:

1. You are a very secure man to let another man touch your tool.

2. Is your name Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor and do they know you on sight at your local Emergency Room?

Sorry, had to do it, but glad you're all right and can see the humor.
