I'm a HUGE Anne Rice fan so I love the movies "Interview With A Vampire" and "Queen Of The Damned." I thought the TV show "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" was ... eh ok... but I liked "Angel" a whole lot more. My latest Vampire love is Mick St. John of the TV show "Moonlight" played by the gorgeous Alex O'Loughlin.
What are your favorite Vampire movies, TV shows, or even books of the past or present? |

I thought the first three books of The Vampire Chronicals were incredible, but the rest fell short of the mark. (If someone disagrees with that, feel free to tell me, cause maybe they warrent a re-read).
For movies I'd have to go with Salems' Lot. I'm not a fan of most of the Stephen King movie translations, but this one's got the goods. |

I agree with you that Anne Rice has AWEsome story lines
Moonlight IS different.. not your TYPical vampy show but interesting none the less.. there's another.. called BLOOD TIES that airs Tuesday evenings that's COOL.. VERY vampy in style with a 'lestat' kinda figurehead.. there was another.. older.. Nick Knight.. canadian as is BLOOD TIES.. well done I'd say preferred Angel myself too he's in BONES now |

I am a huge Angel and Buffy fan. I also liked Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned. I read this one book over the summer it was called...*is drawing a huge blank* wow...I'll have to figure that out but it was pretty good, it had vampires and werewolfs. Love story drama type book.

LOVE Mz Rice!
I saw the 1st Moonlight and I wasnt impressed. Yea, 'Mick St.John' is easy on the eyes, but I couldnt grab him as an actor..Something did not remind me of the Old Ways..I guess what I am trying to say is that I did not feel any depth from him. Has it improved? Should I give the program another try? |

Okay! I found it. The book is Touch of Evil by C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp. It's a series...but I've only read one book so far.
And I've read Salem's Lot before and I liked that too. Anyone have a guilty pleasure for the Buffy The Vampire Slayer Movie? ....I do. |

I'm a huge anne rice fan too... but that made me absolutely HATE the movie Queen of the Damned... it made no sense... it took names of characters and the name of the book... and that was the only similarities.. hated it! Interview was alright, though...

I like anne rices first 4 vampire books but then the suppowers and gay erotica put me off
I love the story I am Legend by richard matheson, a movies about to come out of it with will smith And Salems lot by stephen king freaked the hell outta me ooo and obviously the mother of all vampire stories: Dracula (the book) remains scary a century after publication though i did realize it has other meanings besides the horror, Dracula is a political satire of 19th century English political supremacy I mean think about it, this foreigner (the count) invades england and starts stealing the wives of "civilized people" and showing these women "forbidden pleasures" the only person who saves the bumbling brits is: A german! Not to mention stoker was irish heh Bet noone else has ever realized dracula is a political satire besides me |

Salem's Lot is the single best Vampire story I have ever read. The scene when the old man says "There is someone in my house" was terrifying. Ann Rice is...okay. But it's more like reading about superheros than vampires.

yeah that scene with matt lying awake while a vampire sucks his guests blood upstairs scared me so bad that i had a nightmare that i woke up, shut the open widows (it was summer), and looked 4 garlic in my pantry and when i woke up i realized that in my sleep i had done all of that!
Stephen kings' the man! |
