Demand for more workers at increased wages = increased production cost = increased cost to consumer. That wage (due to increase in consumer cost) doesn't have the buying power it had. So more money demanded by workers = increase production cost = increase cost to consumer. It's a vicious cycle.

Your economy is already doing a slow spiral. In case you hadn't noticed our money is worth slightly more than yours. When did that happen for any length of time?

Sample citizenship question. (don't look it up. You should already know it being a citizen.)

What is the single most important right of an American citizen?

Oh, and if you want to try a citizenship test go ahead. I scored in the upper 80's on 3 different ones from INS. Apparently many 'citizens' wouldn't pass their own citizenship test.

well maybe you should apply

and yes the economy would suffer for a while but at least there would be decent pay for those that want the work

i know a lot of experienced construction personnel that can not find work

because of the work force being flooded by illegals

and the reason for the economy slump is the national dept
at the moment

a direct result of middle east actions

and the influx of illegals and the out sourcing of jobs

And the jobs are being out sourced because it's cheaper than paying those decent wages. The bottom line of a company is all that counts. How much is there there after all the costs? If it's cheaper to have the work done by illegals then that's what they do. Costs stay down and the consumer pays less (note that I am not saying that the consumer isn't getting shafted but the price is down). Can't use illegals then outsource and costs stay down with the same end result (sort of because now the consumer pays for transport costs of finished product, import duty etc.)

Though I will admit that one reason I don't have that much difficulty with it is that I've had an American education.

Fury your arguements are full of holes and ignore all facts, relying instead on unbased fears!

The US would lose no workers. Agriculture is already covered by temporary work visa's. Thes people are here legally and would not be sent packing!

The construction industry would be affected for a short time, but soon all the old workers would come back!

Protective tariffs would save the economy and stop job out-sourcing!

Get off the bleeding heart band-wagon man!laugh laugh laugh

We just had a disscussion today at school about illegal immigration!

8 of 10 people agree with me. I dont know about other states but these are young (18-22 yr old) educated people.

Most all had stories about family members losing good paying jobs to illegal immigrants. Mostly construction jobs and now their families struggle to make ends meet wk-wk!

I myself and one other had a more direct tale to tell!!

Expeirience it, live it, then talk with a bleeding heart!

Canada doesnt have the problem yet, but if we dont stop it here, you soon will!!drinker

very true. I believe that the place to start stopping illegal immigrants is mexico. as long as mexico continues to b a craphole people there r going to continue wanting to come here and we will never stop them completely. The american government needs to pressure mexico into becoming a place where people want to live and r able to live comfortably (not thats its all wine and roses here but its FAR better than there)

also every country i have checked has immigration laws

so maybe you should attack some of them for having there laws as well

if they want to be here

they can apply and enter legally

if this country is so cruel and inhuman

why would they want to be here in the first place

insert head scratching emoticon here

I can't help wondering.

Those who came here so many years ago, gave birth to children, and have raised them here for long enough for those kids to be in their teens.

Yes, like most parents I would do anything to give my children the best life possible.

That would include looking into how I could become a legal citizend and prove to my children that this was country worthy of our support and respect.

But they did not do this. Not being legal, what did they add to society, versus what they have taken. And what's more, what have they taught their children who are about to become adults, about freedom, our responsibilities as citizens of this Republic, about respect for this nation and it's laws?

Kat - at some point we have to relinquish care of other peoples children to those who birthed them, to those who have taken the responsibility of raising them.

It is the bleeding heart for children that has caused so much animosity in our society today. Laws meant to protect children, laws designed to usurp the rights of parents because they don't know how to raise their own kids.

We can't allow our pesonal moral or ethical views take the rights and responsibilities of parents away from them.

These adults made choices, long term choices, they must face the consequences of their actions - unfortunatley their childen are part of those consequences they must face.
