legal weed could definitely remove the appeal and profit made from illicit dealing thats my thinking anyway... So why not do that for meth, heroine etc? meth and herion are man made drugs, have to be made in a lab by chemists and they are highly addictive, people will just about anything to get a fix... MJ is non addictive, people don't rob and kill others to get more, and can be grown just about anywhere by anyone... if these people were killed because of the weed, then it was about money, not weed... |

legal weed could definitely remove the appeal and profit made from illicit dealing thats my thinking anyway... So why not do that for meth, heroine etc? I think the effects of those are different than alcohol or weed,, but that would be something to be determined by medical community its weighing the harm in one situation vs the harm in another alcohol , can be done in moderation, as can weed I'm not sure the same is true for meth or heroine This not an issue about what can or can't be done in moderation. It is about freedom to do what you want with the one life you have to live without harm to others. People will do these drugs one way or another, making them legal will cut crime(put cartels out of business) and make drugs more consistent(less chance of overdose)and save taxpayers billions of dollars a year that are now wasted in DEA drug interdiction programs...money that could be spent on education and rehabilitation for those seeking help. |

Heroin is a derivative of opium, Opium being a natural plant product from the poppy plant. It is highly addictive. So by your logic, as long as it is "natural" it should be legal. Also, There have been many killings over weed, saying it's about "money" and not the weed is disingenuous. People kill over meth, heroin for the "money" that the dealers make, not mainly for the drugs themselves. |

This not an issue about what can or can't be done in moderation. It is about freedom to do what you want with the one life you have to live without harm to others You sadly underestimate the destructive power of the American Meth head....especially to his or her loved ones. Legalizing hard drugs would cut down crime from dealing but not from using...the addicted still have to have money to buy...even from the new Meth Super Emporium. And the abuse and neglect to family and friends would still be present.
Meth, coke, heroin, etc...are totally different animals from weed. |

Meth, coke, heroin, etc...are totally different animals from weed. Sadly you hold on to societies conformity rules. The point is that those Meth heads will be meth heads whether it is legal or not. Making it legal will drive the cost down(making meth heads less likely or at least less often to commit crime to pay for drugs)and also can provide counseling and addiction services from the local pharmacy. I do not advocate drug use but having it controlled and administered legally will save billions of taxpayers money. I should also note that there would be still be severe penalties for and drug addicts that committed crimes that harm others including child neglect, abuse or driving violations would be just a few. |

Sadly you hold on to societies conformity rules. Um no...it's what I've actually witnessed for the past 30 or so years working in a field that allowed me to see firsthand exactly what hard drugs do to not only the users, but their loved ones as well.
As for the rest of your post...its a pipe dream. |
