Romance comes up regularly here, and it makes me wonder what you believe romance and being romantic entails. Because I think it can mean different things to different people. Is it a candle lit dinner for two? A guy buying you roses? What exactly do you feel is romance and romantic acts/behaviour from both yourself and a partner? Someone mentioned "romantic foreplay". What does that mean? The part before you get to the bedroom so to speak or (also) the foreplay once in the bedroom? I actually love to do romantic things. Sometimes it can be a picnic at sunset at the beach. Other times it can be cooking a meal for her. Or it could be hitting Chuck E Cheese, acting like kids and then at the end of the night surprising her with a romantic boat ride. I believe in being creative with the romance....as long as it comes from the heart. Romantic foreplay....to me....it's the stimulation that gets the mood just right. It can be through the eyes...she sees that you adore her and truly want to make her happy. It can be via the soft touches.....she feels that electricity coming from you which sends those vibes throughout her body. It can be going out dancing with one another. So many things can be considered romantic foreplay. Ya just have to decide which avenue to pursue. I can dig it! Chuckie Cheese it is then! I love pizza :) Skee ball challenge. Haha! |

I think love is very much like nature in its spectrum. Love can be intense and passionate like a tidal wave, but it can be soft and sweet like April showers, rainbows and the flowers of spring For me , being romantic is about bringing out that softer , sweeter side of love ie the buoyant butterfly feelings... For me, romance conjures up images of soft playful kisses , cuddling, walks on the beach or the park, stealing loving glances at each other and blushing at each other , holding hands, swaying to music together in a loving embrace, little love notes to each other, giggling over jokes that only the both of you understand or find funny, .... Things like THAT! And when some of those gestures precede sex, I call that romantic foreplay . It's the part of love that makes you feel warm inside rather than HOT! I agree with this 100% any little intimate thing that takes away the day to day demons life throws at you is romantic to me.It lets me know that she is with me and hey its about us and that makes me feel important and wanted to someone. That sums it up nicely :) |

The little romantic things are fine... But then it's back to reality vacuuming up the thousands of rose petals all over the floor, laundering the baby oil soaked sheets and scraping the candle wax off the night table and dresser.

I think true romance is simply paying attention to your partner, then applying those details to an action of giving/doing/traveling/seeing.
Sure you can buy her a dozen roses, and chocolates...basically the movie industry's idea of 'romance'. Or when you know she loves to cook, amd wants you to learn as well you sign up for a couples cooking class for her day off. what one women considers romance another will consider clichΓ©, so in essence remember the details and apply them |

I'm a bit like you Crystal, I'm not sure I could describe it.
One thing it's not, is making breakfast in bed, buying flowers, or holding her hand because you're in the dog house. All the above I suppose could be called romantic if it's spontanious and done for no other reason than you dig her. |

For me I think it's spending time together outside the bedroom with no agenda
Doing things you both like, enjoying each other's company. Showing each other that they are important. It's not about spending money but time. When you are together each moment counts. |
