They all use what is in their arsenal.
The words come at you like flamethrowers. I have also heard it is passed down through a secret male society..all those generic names are fashioned so they never have to remember your real name. |

My ex girlfriend called me Mack Daddy Long Strokin......I didn't mind the pet name, but man....some guys would be crying about sexual harassment.

Pet names are uncomfortable but comforting at the same time. I've never said them but I got used to hearing them.

Oh I don't mind pet names... but like I said earlier... that's AFTER you've started a relationship with someone.. they shouldn't be used when you're first meeting someone :-)

We live in 2016 .. I'm stunned that many men think it's okay to address a woman for the very first time by "sweetie, honey, angel, baby, baby girl, sugar, sexy"... Those are terms that should be reserved for a much closer/intimate relationship interested in your thoughts... ? So this is where I've been going wrong |

Oh I don't mind pet names... but like I said earlier... that's AFTER you've started a relationship with someone.. they shouldn't be used when you're first meeting someone :-) I agree with you. When I get a first email with "hello sweetheart" or something like it, I stop reading. It is a big turnoff for me. |

I always ask if it's just a way of not having to remember my name

Well let the guy know that at first so he is aware, some guys do it because they think its flattering... not all guys are dating masters.. when you realize that it wouldnt be such a turn off, its more important traits then to let a a word such as "sweetie" turn you off.. makes no sense, go easy on these guys gosh!! $

If I were offended and stormed out of every diner where the waitress asked, "What are you having, Hun"... I would have starved to death years ago.

I don't like hearing that from someone I don't really know. Maybe after some time and only if I am attracted to that person

Whats in a name or term???
I have been using those terms for quite awhile now....and the women seem to like it...well, they have not slapped me on the head, so I guess, its a chance you take.....Know the woman before you say it to a newbie, just saying.... |

..yeah..terms of endearment should be after you know each other...but a lot of men don't mean to insult...but my most hated words are when women refer to their mate as "daddy"....that's just gross...imo
