This is a true story of an experience I went through many years ago, and would love to hear if anything similar ever happened to any of you Male/female.

I met a beautiful young lady of a foreign extraction and we dated 5 or 6 times, dining, dancing and going to the Falls as we were at the time in Niagara Falls. We got along great, but no intimacy other than kissing. I started to feel awkward as she always had us meet in town and then one day, I was invited to Sunday Dinner at her place.
I arrived and was invited in and told to rest as dinner was being prepared in the kitchen and it was best if I was just resting up. Feeling awkward again, I did as requested. When dinner was called in the large living room I was amazed at the amount of people there, grandmother, mother and dad, girlfriend, aunt and uncle and three big brothers. We sat and ate the blandest lasagna I have ever had, but I kept a smile knowing something I was not aware of, was brewing.
After the meal the patriot, grandmother, stood and wanted to toast the meal, or so I thought. Everyone stood up and a hand on my shoulder told me to stay seated. She began by having everyone at the table bless me as being an ideal husband for their daughter and sister, and welcoming me into the family. I was informed they would be setting a date, renting a hall and taking care of everything. I was dumbfounded and could not speak. I shortly left feigning tiredness. Things changed the next day as the brothers were more persistent in being around me as if they were guarding any escape to the unknown....which I was.
I left the falls by car that night at midnight and did not stop until I got to the west coast, and have never to this day, ever been back to Niagara Falls.. By the way, later I checked their nationality habits and this was a common thing for them to do for their daughters. Once you dine with her family you are in their eyes engaged.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else as I have always hoped I was not the only nut case that got drawn into this situation.

In my single days and twenties, I was in a truck
driving down a busy road in Hayward, California.

My bro-in-law was driving, my sister between us.
We were going to look at campers for his truck
and so pulled into the RV place.

My bro-in-law wandered off and my sis and I looked
at the inventory.

When we found him again he said, 'This feller saw us
on the road and wants to date you, so we are all
having dinner at our house tonight.'

!!!!!!!!!! A stranger !!!!!!!!
They coerced me into it.
The dude comes by MY place to pick me up first.

It went something like this..

'I knew the moment I saw you in that truck you were
the one for me. I'm from Texas, and my Daddy sent me
out to California to get a bride, I can't go home
without one.'

Smell the plot from the movie 'Giant'?
My eyes are rolling heavenward.
That guy dogged me all night..persuasion he thought
conquered all.

Had to change my phone number and check before leaving
my apartment afterwards.

I suppose it was flattering.
Except the reason he picked me out was
I looked good in a truck.

Nothing as scary as a marriage proposal, but during the course of a massage in Singapore had the masseuse tell me she was going to "cut off my penis, keep for herself" ....but the marriage thing definitely scarier!

Once I had a married man that I hardly knew, (we went to an occasional meeting in a crowd of people), come to my door to tell me his wife was going to die soon, (She was in great health). So would I wait for him and be his next wife.
Of course I said yes....sick sick sick
