Hmmmm,

Which job?

The one that pays the rent?
The one that feeds my soul?
or the one that lets me make a mess?

I checked my profile ... my official profession is "Contemplative Dreamer" ... yes that suits me fine ...

But no ... I am much more than all that...

laugh laugh

I do find that fascinating, where some professions, careers, jobs, seem to become the person.

And they will defend to the bitter end the job they do.

What about the person residing in the body, aren't they more than a job?

Yes they are more than the job but it depends on the person and how they see themselves. I've seen people in my line of work take it to their head and treat everyone else like scum. I vowed never to do that. I watched my family fall apart behind very bad things and for their sake and others I watched have their lives taken from, I chose my career when I was young and never gave up til I got it.

I love my work! My professional occupation is Architecture - dedicate to healing, learning and discovery (healthcare, academic and research facilities). Architecture inspires me because it is an expression of utility and delight with the potential to move people, improve their lives and transpire them to a higher level of consciousness. As an architect, I am fortunate to be involved with hospital projects, creating a place of comfort for patients and family members in their most profound moments.

And I see that as fine, Datboi, we all do what we do, for a multitude of reasons, but do you become your job, to the point of being so defensive you are aggressive, and abusive?

Or are you open to hearing another's point of veiw, without taking on the whole profession, as personal?

There are good points and bad points about every job in the universe that delivers a paycheck. I just found it interesting, that some take on the whole profession, and they become that profession, and will hear nothing against any of it, even though, many are mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, outside their chosen work.

A whole person without the job.

I really enjoy my job. It's the bulls*hit that goes along with it that I don't care for. Too many gals in the same place, same time, lots of them young. Always seems to be someone stirring the pot. The actual job itself is great.

i hear you lily, the girl i work with mess around to much they don't understand how to be professional. sad thing is one is in her 40's and the other in her 60's.

When I have a resident at my desk pissed off, I don't need them off to the side cussing and laughing and just being immature. I think it makes me look bad and it actually embarasses me. I already have a hard enough time because soo many people that come in don't want to deal with me because i'm young and they think that I don't know what I'm talking about. I think it's sad when you can't take your job seriously.

My part time job is at a construction site. I like it, but I have a hard time there because the guys think that I'm a joke and can't handle the work. They don't want to take the time to show me how to do something. they just assume that I am incapable of learning their jobs.

Aww Jess, you never siese to amaze me. I have not yet become my job but I can't yet say whether I will or not. I hope not because I have seen several in my hometown that it has happened to and I wish I could put them back in their place as human beings. I don't judge people even as a cop. Its not my place on or off duty. I am a Law Enforcement Officer not a judge. I hate people who hide behind the badge just as those who hide behind friends with a badge. Anybody that knows me knows I don't use authority to my advantage. I just do my job.

I was my career choice but it eventually destroyed me and my sanity, I am now simply a poet, if I get paid great if I don't great.
