My dad loved daffodils. I was thinking about planting a whole lot of the larger ones later this year. Right now I only got the small ones, the tete-a-tete.

Last night my dad passed away ... I will plant the daffodils later this year, and think of him when I see them gently swaying in the wind next spring.

Thank you. He passed away early this morning, 5.45 am.
And yes, it is hard. Hasn't fully registered yet. Been a very difficult day, lots to take care of, decide etc. the shock, sadness, sometimes laughter in between. I'm glad my two stepsisters did so much.
I left at 11 am and got home 11 pm, long day.
Glad that I managed to safely drive over there and back ... I wasn't sure about it at first :/
But it's so weird ...

You will be numb at first I have lost both my parents and at any age it is heartbreaking no words can ease your pain but I hope you get some comfort from them big hugs are sent your way xx

So far I find it very double, mixed feelings.
In tears, then understanding and accepting, then in tears again etc.
And odd how a gazillion memories come rushing in, esp childhood memories, and realizing that there's so many memories that no one else but me and my dad knew about.

Right now I'm not going to cry, I hope. I look horrible. I always get puffy eyes real easy the day after I've cried, and today is the worst I've ever had. My entire left eye is swollen, not just below, but above it too. And I got to go to the supermarket. I think I'm gonna keep my sunglasses on!
And try to get a Powerpoint presentation done before Friday that will be shown during the service on Saturday. So I got a bunch of pictures and a few albums to scan etc today. That's likely going to be difficult...

So sorry to hear that you lost your father, my true condolences to you and your family.
Planting daffodils will be a wonderful way to remember him, as well as bring a smile of memories to your face when they pop up each year. peace & love.

What can anyone say to someone who has lost someone dear to them.?.. what words can be pulled from the universe to help ease their loss and suffering?.. when we hear of someone else's Loss... we always remember the people that we lost, that were near and dear to ourselves .. and we also remember how all the well wishes how all the I'm sorry to hear for your loss.. how all the condolences from everyone.. your family ,your friends.. even though it is nice
to know they truly care .
But at the end of the day no words no amount of condolences.. will be able too soften the pain of your loss... are bring your loved one to you..
So I will not offer up my condolences..

Is the reassurance .. that in time!!
that the pain of your loss ,becomes less painful..
That the emptiness you feel inside does begin to fill up again...

I see my dad in some of the things my kids do, even what comes out of my mouth I can hear him.
The boys in our family are very much alike in looks, character and in so many ways are like dad.

When we bring strays home it reminds mum of all the strays dad brought home.
He would say " mama can we keep them, they need feeding".

As a family we wrote a book of memories of dad. We shared our stories and experiences. This helped our family to deal with the grief.

The death of dad brought three generations together and stronger.
