Same here. i have to have Xanax to make it through the take off. Once up, no problem, despite knowing that landings are much more dangerous.

Well see now, the airlines have asked me not to fly their
friendly skies.

I am claustrophobic, was sitting in the last aisle, against
the bulkhead which did not give for a lean back, then I put
my tray down, then the guy in front of me tilted back and
the next thing I recall was someone screaming and attempting
to climb out of the plane over all the headrests..I don't
fly any more.

The dentist, I sweat bullets when I go there.

I felt that way on that mini jet from Pensacola to Houston, and I ain't even claustrophobic
On the way to Pensacola, I wanted to get out ASAP as I was about to flip ... but his dude got up and blocked me and everyone behind me, just stood there... deliberately, the effing a-hole! to allow the ppl in the front rows to leave first. I felt like kicking him and scratching his eyes out ... I was seriously panicking, could barely stand up straight with my 5 foot 10.
I forced myself to look at the floor and pretend I wasn't crammed in. And boy, was I glad when I could finally get of that bleeping plane!

On the way back I booked the 2nd seat on the left hand side. No way did I wanna get stuck at the back again!

I believe more people die in car accidents, than plane travel...not counting those missing planes, with all aboard..having said that....take of used to be the worst time for me, but now I carry my own candy, so its all good now. Ya , I have noticed no more hot towels and mints on planes these days...at the time of take off.....
