They go out in the WASHER WASTE WATER. Socks can become stretched out by the washing process, and thin enough to sluice through the pump, and go out through the drain pipe into the sewers.

I had to fix a washer with a bad pump once, and when I took it apart, there were socks incoming, socks out going, and one that was in the pump when the transmission broke, and locked it up.

But the older you get hun, is the more you realise that you have to prioritise in terms of people pleasing. I think I mentioned this to you before about women. Most women just need to know that their feelings are being considered by the men in their lives and that the guy is trying their best to meet their needs. You don't need to be there every single time your girlfriend, mother, sister or female friends call. You have to prioritise in terms of the urgency of the request at the moment. If the choices are with regard to social events, then you always ask yourself if you can make up for your absence at another time. If it has to do with emotional needs, the major loyalty would be your mother and your gf, and sometimes you will have to say no to one or the other based on the urgency of the request . The secret in dealing with women is to show consideration for them on a REGULAR basis so that the times when you have to refuse a request of theirs , it is not considered to be a colossal offense. And even when you are forced to refuse their request, always try to negotiate a compensation plan. Send flowers or reassuring messages to the "injured" party and negotiate a realistic rain cheque for when you will be able to compensate for your refusal or absence .

Based on your previous posts , you seemed to have laid the ground work of love in all your relationships with the women in your lives including your mom, friends and gf so don't put so much pressure on yourself to ALWAYS be there for all of them NOW.
